Does Hans Kraay Jr. also fear for PSV? Kraay points to Bosz and statements about Oranje: ‘It was very clear that he couldn’t do that.’
1 min readPSV has meanwhile begun preparations for the 2026/2027 season. Last weekend, Peter Bosz’s team drew 1-1 against the Belgian club Royal Antwerp FC in a friendly match at De Herdgang.
Afterwards, Bosz was also asked about the fact that his name is being mentioned as a possible head coach of the Netherlands national team. In February, however, the coach extended his contract with PSV until mid-2028.
Still, ESPN analyst Hans Kraay Jr. thinks that the current PSV coach has not yet put the national coach role out of his mind. Kraay writes this in his column on behalf of Voetbal International.
''I watched the interview with an open mouth and incredible amazement. When asked by VoetbalPrimeur whether he would definitely say 'no' to an offer from Oranje, there was absolutely no unmistakable 'no' coming out of his mouth. He liked being mentioned as a candidate. Haven't we all thought a little that he was waiting for a phone call from Nigel de Jong,'' the analyst judges.
After that, Kraay delves into the interview of VoetbalPrimeur with the current head coach of PSV. "The reporter from VoetbalPrimeur asked him again the excellent question whether he could put the PSV supporters fully at ease. It was very clear that he couldn't. I get the impression that Peter Bosz is still getting excited about the national team coach role," said the former footballer.

"Het was heel duidelijk dat hij dat niet kon" ... haha Kraay heeft wel scherp hoor. Als Bosz echt rust wil brengen, dan moet hij zulke twijfels gewoon afsluiten.
"hij dat niet kon" is such a brutal line from Kraay. On one hand, i get it, you never fully know... but if you can't reassure the supporters, what message are you sending? 👀 Also, contract or not, rumors can mess with the planning.
Ik vond Bosz zelf meestal vrij duidelijk, maar als Kraay zegt dat hij geen harde "nee" durfde te geven, dan klopt er iets niet. Niet dat ik Oranje schandalig vind, maar je moet PSV gewoon prioriteit geven.
1-1 tegen Antwerp en dan direct weer die bondcoach-discussie. Ik snap Kraay wel, die vraag over PSV-supporters was echt awkward. Als dit invloed heeft op de voorbereiding, dan is dat een L.
Bosz die "niet 100 procent kan geruststellen"... dat klinkt tbh alsof hij nog ruimte open laat voor Oranje. Hopelijk focust hij wél volledig op De Herdgang en niet op telefoontjes.
If Bosz is still "opgewonden" about Oranje, that should scare PSV fans a bit. Antwerp was 1-1, but the bigger worry is focus and stability, not preseason results. I just want him 100% in Eindhoven until at least next summer.
