According to De Boer, PSV has nothing to fear: “He comes for reimbursement of expenses.”
1 min readThe succession of Ronald Koeman has suddenly and out of nowhere become a topic of conversation, too, from the PSV perspective. Peter Bosz still has an ongoing contract until the summer of 2028, but what does this contract say if the main player sets his sights on an employment as national team coach of the Netherlands national team?
According to Ronald de Boer, however, PSV does not need to worry. De Boer thinks he knows that it is not unthinkable that Pep Guardiola has interest in a role as head coach of the Dutch national team. De Boer says this in an interview with De Telegraaf. De Boer views the Spaniard’s approach as a 'sit-in-the-open goal' opportunity for the KNVB.
De Boer believes that the KNVB must contact Guardiola. "In the documentary Força Koeman, he himself said that the KNVB can always call him. Nigel de Jong of course must always do that,” De Boer says clearly.
“De Boer sees it as an opportunity for a clear goal for the KNVB,” De Telegraaf describes the words of Ronald de Boer. “It would be a great PR boost for the Netherlands, because Pep is the best imaginable figurehead. With all the teams he has coached, he applies high pressure, stands for attacking and dominant football, and does not give the ball to the opponent,” De Boer continues his analysis about the role of national team coach of the Netherlands national team.

“Pep is a Cruyff devotee. He wants to give Dutch football something back, because as a player and coach he has become who he is now thanks to the trainer and adviser Johan Cruyff. That’s what he says in every interview. This is the opportunity to translate his gratitude into actions.”
De Boer also says that the KNVB does not need to worry right away about the salary costs for the Catalan. “You have to turn it around. If you’ve earned tens of millions in salary for years, then you don’t need to look at the money anymore. Pep also knows that the KNVB is not offering twenty million in salary. And he knew that too when, in that documentary, he left the door slightly ajar. He is coming for an expense allowance and sees this role as national team coach as an honorary position. I really hope Nigel manages to pull this off,” Ronald de Boer said.

If that tactic is to play more direct, then the wide channels have to be sharper. Cody Gakpo linking play is good, but he needs better support from the inside runner, otherwise it turns into predictable breaks.
Wie kijkt mee? 😅
Eens. This feels like the best route to get that 2nd goal, especially if the wingers stretch the pitch and Veerman gets on the ball early. 🚀⚽
"PSV Inside" is acting like the pressing is fixed now, but you can see the gaps after the first wave. If teams play through the half-space early, we look shaky. ngl.
i like the intensity, but why does the press drop so fast after the first win? ajax would punish that space in front of the CBs, fr 🤡
I like the intent, but i still think we waste chances when the midfield is too slow to turn. Midfielders need one quicker pass to the 10 or its just sideways football. 👏
If the article is right about PSV being more flexible in buildup, that changes everything. 👀 Depay dropping into pockets with the fullbacks stepping in could finally unlock Utrecht-type low blocks.
That midfield setup felt a bit too safe. If they want control, they need more urgency between the lines, not just sideways passes.
