Italian transfer journalist confirms PSV transfer but “adds an extra million euros on top”

The transfer of Sven Mijnans to PSV is completely finalized. That means PSV and the Alkmaar club are fully in agreement about the arrival of Mijnans at PSV.

Also Italian transfer expert, or transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, reports that Mijnans will move from AZ to PSV. Romano even mentions the contract length, which is also not immediately very difficult to guess, but that aside. The midfielder for AZ is going to sign a five-year contract with PSV, Fabrizio Romano reports late on Sunday evening.

On Sunday, Eindhovens Dagblad reported that Mijnans will move to PSV after having held multiple talks with both PSV management and Ajax management. Como, Red Bull Leipzig and Juventus were also in the running, but just like Ajax, the listed clubs proved to be unable to secure the signature of AZ’s midfielder.

Mijnans is already medically assessed in Eindhoven on Monday. Italian transfer journalist Romano also confirms the news regarding Mijnans’ assessment. A notable detail is that the Italian transfer journalist does not mention a transfer fee of thirteen million euros but of fourteen million euros. So Romano adds one million euros on top, because in various Dutch media only a transfer fee of thirteen million euros was reported.

Mijnans will thus commit to PSV for five years, but his current employer AZ meets him in an early head-to-head encounter between the two. On 2 August, PSV and AZ face each other in the contest for the Johan Cruijff Shield.
