PSV target for summer 2025 suddenly worth five times as much

PSV moved heaven and earth and tried to keep its patience for no less than four months while heading toward Betis Sevilla, the IND and, of course, the main player himself.

Already in May, shortly after the unexpected league title of the 2024-2025 season, PSV reached an agreement with the Spanish side Betis Sevilla regarding a transfer of Nobel Mendy to PSV. The club management had no doubt about the defender’s development, but the IND thought otherwise.

Mendy was, in fact, not eligible for a work permit in the Netherlands. In the end, he made the switch on a rental basis to the Madrid-based Rayo Vallecano. Meanwhile, the Conference League finalist has activated the €3.5 million buy-out option in Mendy’s contract and could sell the defender this summer for a multiple of that amount.

In the meantime, the defender who was much discussed last year is worth a multiple of that amount that PSV and Betis Seville managed to agree on. Marca reports that his current club, Rayo Vallecano, has rejected a bid of fifteen million euros from Eintracht Frankfurt for Mendy.

Marca reports that Eintracht Frankfurt has made an offer of fifteen million euros for Mendy, which has already been rejected by his employer. Eintracht Frankfurt will have to make a substantial addition to her million-euro bid in order to be able to sign Mendy.
