Separate from the Saibari deal, PSV collects 55 million euros in transfer fees for three PSV starters

1 min read

The transfer of Ismael Saibari from PSV to the south of Germany is nearing completion. All signs point to the million-euro deal between PSV and Fc Bayern being made public next Wednesday.

It is now also clear that the transfer violence at the Philips Stadium still has to break loose, but more on that in a moment. The millions for Saibari are in any case on the way, and that is good news to call it. The expectation is that there will be a lot of investment this summer. After all, the Moroccan international needs to be replaced because quite a few goals and assists are disappearing with the departure of Saibari, who was raised at PSV.

The Eindhoven Dagblad further reports that, aside from the Saibari deal, around 55 million euros in transfer fees can be cashed in should the three first-team players Sergiño Dest, Mauro Júnior and Joey Veerman leave this summer. At the moment, it currently seems highly likely that at least two of the three players mentioned will go, but everything still has to take shape.

Will a massive exodus of youth players nevertheless get underway this summer? It’s not necessarily the intention, but it definitely has all the signs of it. Still, Eindhovens Dagblad reports that no 'complete sell-off or exodus' is expected at PSV. Eindhovens Dagblad reports that Sergiño Dest, Mauro Júnior and Joey Veerman have a fixed buyout clause in the relevant contracts, although that cannot be activated throughout the entire summer.

Sergiño Dest, Mauro Júnior and Joey Veerman can and are allowed to leave PSV this summer for, respectively, 23 million euros, 12 million euros and 20 million euros. But the relevant buyout clauses in their contracts will no longer be valid in a few weeks.

De Eindhovens Dagblad reports that a 'complete sell-off or exodus' is not expected. However, it does need to be kept in mind that the English clubs that get started late will still make moves until late in the transfer window. Until exactly when the clauses run, it is not clear, but it is rumored to be until mid-July.

The conclusion of the Eindhovens Dagblad therefore is that interested clubs will have to move quickly for PSV if they genuinely want to table a million-euro bid for Dest, Mauro and Veerman. After mid-July, the story will be different. If clubs still want to make a move for the aforementioned players before mid-July, the result for PSV will be that 55 million euros will nevertheless be collected in transfer fees. That amount is separate from the Saibari deal, through which PSV—including bonuses—will receive around 55 million euros from the south of Germany.

Tbh i think the key is how we use the full-backs. If they overlap early and cross with intent, we can turn set-ups into real chances. If they stay passive again, it will feel mid all game. 🤡📈

"PSV Inside" mentions the same strengths, but i want to see more evidence in big games. Give me clearer roles for the 8 and stop the late overlapping that leaves the half-space exposed. 👀

i dont buy the "confidence" narrative. We need more composure in the last 20 minutes, because thats where we leak points. Thats not unlucky, thats repeatable defending errors.

"build from the back" is nice, until the press is too aggressive. Then it becomes forced long balls and we lose the second phase. 💀⚽

Oof, if the article is hinting at more wing overloads, im excited. Our best moments are when the wide player pins the fullback and the inside runner attacks the channel.

That defensive line coordination is actually scary when it works...🔥 But when it doesnt, it turns into a highlight reel for the opponent.

I like the confidence in the pressing plan, but the article mentions committing numbers forward. If the midfield doesnt shift as a unit, the gaps between the lines will be punished quickly. Need smarter spacing, not just more effort.

If PSV start playing more direct in the final third, its gonna suit the wingers heavy. But i hope that doesnt come at the cost of control in midfield, otherwise teams will just hit us on the counter. 👀🔥

"PSV Inside" makes it sound like the tactics are settled, but i still think the double-pivot balance is off. When one fullback steps too early, you see the space immediately.

If PSV really want to push the press higher, they better have the midfield cover. Right now teams just turn us with one quick pass, and then its all chaos in transition.
