Ricardo Pepi | Top earner, and a multi-million transfer to a European top club is suddenly no longer unthinkable
1 min readRicardo Pepi, along with Sergino Dest, has now been eliminated from the World Cup on home soil. On Tuesday night, Team USA lost 1-4 to Belgium, and as a result, the Americans are out of the tournament.
For the World Cup, Pepi had already been linked for some time with a move away from PSV. In March, the American appeared to be on his way to Fulham FC, but this transfer was called off at the very last moment, meaning the striker is still employed by PSV.
Last month, the forward was linked by the German outlet Kicker to clubs in Germany and England without naming any concrete clubs. In that context, Pepi is still doing well in the market, and so it is certainly not out of the question that the striker will leave PSV this summer.
Yet Eindhoven’s newspaper Eindhovens Dagblad reports that it is intended for the American forward to wear the PSV shirt again next season as well. “At the moment it has the appearance that he and PSV will enter the summer transfer window with the intention of continuing to collaborate for the fourth year in a row,” the ED writes about it.

Now that Pepi has been eliminated from the World Cup, the forward will go on vacation for the first three weeks before rejoining PSV. The striker also has a contract until 2030 and despite a cameo at the World Cup, it is still doubtful where the forward’s future lies.
