PSV targets FC Twente: “Transfer of 10 million euros”
1 min readThe upcoming transfer period of transfer summer 2026 is on the horizon, although it will involve somewhat different moves and highlights because the FIFA World Cup will be determining and influencing a large part of the transfer summer. In Enschede, at least, people think they know that PSV has set its sights on a player from FC Twente, according to a follower of the club from the east.
It promises to be a busy summer for Earnie Stewart and his team. Already, in the month of May with two more matches still on the schedule, a number of players are being linked with a future at PSV. In Enschede, it is reported that PSV is interested in Mats Rots. This season, Rots is going through an excellent development at FC Twente. Earlier, it was already known that PSV is keeping an eye on the 20-year-old left-back. Now it seems that PSV would like to seriously pursue the arrival of Rots. 'PSV wants to take Mats Rots over from Twente now that it doesn't seem to be working out with Salah-Eddine,' the usually well-informed Paul Lassche reports on X.
The interest in Rots would have to do with the still ongoing uncertainty surrounding defender Anass Salah-Eddine. PSV would like to permanently take over Salah-Edinne, but the management of the 24-year-old Moroccan would not yet want to cooperate. PSV therefore appears to be looking further and has come up with Mats Rots. At least, that’s what the aforementioned FC Twente watcher reports

It is also reported that Italian club Como 1907 would be interested in the arrival of Rots. If PSV actually wants to take over Rots from FC Twente, it will have to dig deep. In Enschede, they think Rots would need to cost around ten million euros. Rots is still under contract in Enschede until mid-2028, so ten million euros seems to be a bit on the high side.
