PSV and Oranje fans point to Wim Jonk regarding Joey Veerman’s absence from Oranje

Joey Veerman is therefore not even on the 55-man list that Ronald Koeman has submitted to FIFA at the start of this week. That reports De Telegraaf. All national team coaches of all countries taking part in the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada must submit a list of 55 names. Of these, 29 are still dropped. The Netherlands national team will ultimately go to the United States with 26 players.
Veerman, according to Koeman, therefore doesn’t even belong among the 55 best players in the Netherlands. Veerman, of course, should belong there, but Ronald Koeman does not think the 27-year-old PSV player fits into his group of players, even though two years ago he thought differently. Many Oranje fans react angrily on social media and have now concluded that Ronald Koeman has a personal grudge against Joey Veerman.
Football fans and the media are reacting left and right with considerable outrage to all the commotion, but Koeman seems to be standing his ground. Orange- and PSV fans think that the presence of Wim Jonk has something to do with Veerman's absence from the Netherlands national team. That seems far-fetched at the outset, but it is being suggested nonetheless, here and there.

This is peak weird. Wim Jonk als reden noemen is misschien overdreven, maar het zegt wel iets over hoe vreemd die selectie voelt. Veerman eruit laten, terwijl Nederland toch middencontrole nodig heeft, is gewoon zonde. 💀
"ziet het simpelweg niet zitten" klinkt echt alsof hij al gestempeld heeft. Vorige keer kon hij hem wel waarderen, nu ineens niet. Of Koeman kijkt niet naar wedstrijden, of hij wil gewoon niet horen... 👀
Idk hoe Koeman dit kan verkopen. Veerman is voor PSV echt een schakel, waarom dan niet in de 55? Tbh lijkt het meer op een vete dan op sportieve keuzes. 100% frustratie hier.
Koeman zegt dus letterlijk dat Veerman er niet tussen past, terwijl hij gewoon een vaste waarde is bij PSV. Tbh dit ruikt naar persoonlijke keuze, want 55 naar 26 schrappen is niet hetzelfde als "niet passen".
Breng dan gewoon een nuchter antwoord, niet "past niet bij mijn groep". Joey is gewoon een volwassen optie op het midden, en PSV heeft hem juist laten groeien. Als je Wim Jonk erbij gaat halen in de geruchten, dan is dat eigenlijk al een signaal dat mensen het niet snappen.

Koeman "ziet het simpelweg niet zitten"... sure, maar waarom dan steeds Veerman pakken als discussiepunt? Dit voelt gewoon als een persoonlijke voorkeur, want als je hem niet ziet dan is het ineens midden op vakantie in plaats van op het WK. 🔥
Ik blijf het raar vinden dat Veerman niet eens in die 55 staat. En dan nu weer die insinuaties over Wim Jonk... jongens, dat is toch compleet ver gezocht?
Man, dit voelt echt als kleineren. Koeman zegt dus simpelweg "niet passen" terwijl Joey vorig jaar nog gewoon liet zien dat hij kan draaien in dat midden. Als Wim Jonk hier ook maar enigszins een rol had, dan is dit politiek gedoe en niet voetbal. 🤬
Koeman die Veerman niet eens in de 55 zet... dat voelt echt als man-tegen-man politiek. 🔥 Als je hem twee jaar geleden wel zag zitten, wat is er dan veranderd? Tbh, dit ruikt naar iets persoonlijks.
