Guus Hiddink is also asked about the situation at the KNVB after Ronald Koeman stepped down as head coach of the Netherlands national team. Hiddink, an expert to the core, is in fact also one of the eighteen million head coaches our country boasts.

His name keeps coming up as a successor to Ronald Koeman, against his will in any case, but that’s beside the point. Peter Bosz wants nothing to do with it, but in the meantime the rumors only increase. That in turn means that prominent figures are once again being asked about the succession of Peter Bosz, as is the case with Guus Hiddink.

And it turns out that Hiddink sees Peter Bosz as a suitable new national team coach for the Netherlands. The former successful coach of, among others, PSV, Real Madrid, Chelsea and the Netherlands national team wonders whether PSV would be open to that, but Hiddink nevertheless moves ahead with it already and immediately points to Arne Slot as Peter Bosz’s successor.

In conversation with De Telegraaf, Hiddink discusses who Ronald Koeman should be replaced by at Oranje. Hiddink also sees a future in Pep Guardiola, but then again the name of Bosz comes up. "I also think Peter Bosz is a very suitable candidate, in terms of age, in terms of the way of playing football. I think PSV will not just cooperate with that, but perhaps there is a solution to be found for it, and then I look back to the past."

Hiddink then points to the 1994/1995 season. "I had just left Valencia and PSV asked me to come back, because they were looking for a coach. I thought it was too soon for that. And then PSV and the KNVB came to a solution: Dick Advocaat, who was national team coach, became coach of PSV and I went to work as national team coach. A construction like that could be done now with Bosz as national team coach and Arne Slot as coach of PSV", Guus Hiddink said about the succession of Ronald Koeman.
