1 min readIn Alkmaar, people still believe that they can let the silver fleet sail in with the upcoming sale of Sven Mijnans to whichever club. Just like a year ago, PSV has now shown serious interest in Mijnans, but, as is customary, is waiting out the heavy negotiations with the club from Alkmaar.
But it does seem that good news exists regarding PSV's interest. The chance that PSV will strengthen itself with Sven Mijnans is, in the meantime, 'quite large'. This is reported by Eindhovens Dagblad on Saturday morning. The midfielder reportedly has a buyout clause in his contract, which would allow him to leave for a limited transfer fee. What stands out is that this clause would not apply to PSV, but only to foreign clubs.
There is also serious interest from abroad at this point. Juventus, Como and RB Leipzig are open to the arrival of Mijnans, but PSV seems to have a slight edge, especially since Mijnans himself also has his ears open to a move to PSV.
'In his new contract with AZ, it is reportedly the case that there is a clause which would allow him to move to foreign clubs for roughly fifteen million euros (the exact amount is not known). Sources close to the situation reassure that the clause does not apply to PSV,' writes the Eindhovens Dagblad. In short, confusion all around about the state of affairs.
The management of PSV and AZ would speak this weekend about a possible transfer of Mijnans to PSV. "The chance seems quite substantial that it will be PSV, but with a caveat," writes the Eindhoven newspaper. Mijnans can sign a four- or five-year contract in Eindhoven to become the successor to the departed Ismael Saibari.

Vier of vijf jaar contract en hij wordt Saibari-opvolger... als het tempo en de duels maar matchen met PSV. Anders krijg je een 'beter dan vorig jaar' middenveld, maar niet echt de upgrade die we nodig hebben. 👀⚽
Juventus, Como en Leipzig die staan te trappelen, da's geen vriendenboekje. Als AZ slim is trekken ze de hoofdprijs eruit, en dan wordt Saibari-opvolger toch een dure puzzel. Hopelijk houdt PSV de troef van 'Mijnans wil' vast in de gesprekken.
"de clausule niet voor PSV geldt" is echt typisch... eerst hopen op een makkelijke deal en dan blijkt het een loophole voor het buitenland. Als Mijnans wel oren heeft naar PSV moeten we hem gewoon financieel overtuigen, geen gedoe.

Als ze 15 miljoen als referentie gebruiken en PSV kan er niet onder komen, dan wordt het een dure opvolger van Saibari. Ja Mijnans is top, maar dit ruikt naar een onderhandeling in grijze zone. 🙄
Als die clause alleen voor buitenlandse clubs geldt, dan is het dus echt schipperen voor PSV. Tbh klinkt het als AZ probeert de deur dicht te gooien voor NL transfers, maar Mijnans wil blijkbaar wel naar Eindhoven. Ben benieuwd hoe PSV dat gaat tackelen in de gesprekken dit weekend. 🔥
15 miljoen klinkt als een koopje, maar als die clausule niet geldt voor PSV dan is het dus toch onderhandelen tot het schuim op de mond komt. Tbh ben benieuwd of PSV dit kan dichttimmeren voordat buitenlandse clubs toeslaan.
