PSV pushes on and signs up in Enschede and Nijmegen for million-euro transfers
1 min readPSV seems to want to strengthen the squad with two incoming transfers ahead of the World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. A real Eredivisie duo would be added to Peter Bosz's squad, it appears. Meanwhile, Bundesliga club Hoffenheim threw a spanner in the works by making itself known to FC Twente and Rots. The defender is going to Hoffenheim for 16 million euros.
The million-euro transfer of Ismael Saibari to FC Bayern is meanwhile nearing completion and, according to De Telegraaf, PSV appears to want to move quickly as soon as the top transfer to FC Bayern Munich has been completed. The club’s management has even already contacted FC Twente and NEC, for Mats Rots and Kodai Sano, respectively. De Telegraaf reports this about the latest developments, which have been overtaken by the transfer of Rots to Hoffenheim.
PSV is not only accounting for a possible departure from Saibari in midfield, but also from Joey Veerman and Mauro Júnior, and above all the latter player will be sorely missed. The Brazilian can be considered the cement between the stones. Kodai Sano has been on PSV’s radar for longer, but the club leadership now seems to want to move things along for the Japanese player.

Sano must cost many millions, but PSV doesn’t seem to be letting that stop them. The Japanese player still has a contract until mid-2028 in Nijmegen, but NEC actually thinks it can ask for 20 million euros for Sano. Just three goals and seven assists in 34 Eredivisie matches, the Japanese player was able to record for a very attacking NEC. That can be called disappointing.
Mats Rots played for FC Twente in 34 Eredivisie matches and scored four goals while providing four assists. His contract in Enschede runs until mid-2027, with the option of an additional year. Even for Rots, PSV will have to pay a great deal.

Rots voor Salah-Eddine volgen? Dat is precies het soort schaakzetten dat PSV de laatste jaren deed, maar wel op snelheid. 20 miljoen voor Sano terwijl hij gemiddeld wat mager produceert in goals is echt ff slikken, tbh. Toch, als ze hem zien als creatie-motor en niet alleen afmaker... dan kan het een banger worden 🔥
"De clubleiding heeft zich zelfs al gemeld bij FC Twente en NEC" oké, das iig duidelijk. Wel vraag ik me af of Bosz niet beter eerst een echte nummer 6 zoekt, want Mauro als cement tussen de stenen ga je niet zomaar vervangen. Rots is dan weer wél een logische opvolger, al is het salaris/bedrag natuurlijk de vraag.
Saibari naar Bayern nog even afronden en dan meteen Mats Rots en Kodai Sano halen, dat is wel een duidelijk transferplan. Alleen, die getallen van Sano zijn mager t.o.v. de verwachte transfersom, dus ik ben benieuwd wat PSV precies ziet in zijn rol zonder bal en in de opbouw. Als Rots inderdaad Salah-Eddine moet opvolgen, moeten ze ook gaan investeren in creativiteit op de zijkant.

"PSV wil selectie upgrade geven" ok maar wie gaat dat cement zijn als Mauro vertrekt? Sano is snel en technisch maar ik twijfel of hij die verantwoordelijkheid kan dragen. Rots als opvolger voor Salah-Eddine lijkt me logisch, maar dan moet Bosz wel doorpakken met chemie.
Mats Rots lijkt me logischer als opvolger van Salah-Eddine dan Sano, omdat Rots meer direct goal threat had (4+4 in 34). Als Sano echt 20 miljoen moet kosten voor 3 goals en 7 assists, dan hoop ik dat Bosz hem laat groeien naar iets meer dan een aanvallende middenvelder. Tbh i like the ambition, but it needs to fit the system.
If Saibari to Bayern is echt gedaan worden, dan snap ik het snel schakelen. Maar Kodai Sano met 3 goals en 7 assists uit 34 klinkt toch echt als een dure gok hoor, ngl. Wel interessant dat er ook een backup komt als Mauro wegvalt.
If they can land both Rots and Sano after Saibari to Bayern, itll be a huge statement. Veerman out and Mauro Jr not there is scary though, that cement comment was spot on. But those numbers for Sano arent exactly a killer output... still, PSV always finds a way to get the best from guys.
20 miljoen voor Sano klinkt als echt PSV-gepast risico, maar tbh 3 goals en 7 assists in 34 games is wel vrij mid voor zo n prijs. Als Veerman of Mauro echt gaat, snap ik de urgentie, maar laat ze er dan meteen een spelmaker of echte scorer naast zetten.
