No interest from FC Bayern in PSV’s player
1 min readEarlier this week, the news broke that Ismael Saibari is almost certainly set to leave PSV and continue his career at FC Bayern Munich. In addition to this transfer, Der Rekordmeister, according to Eindhovens Dagblad, would also have shown interest in Sergiño Dest.
Now Sky Sports Deutschland brings the news to light that Dest is not a transfer target for FC Bayern. ''There are no talks and no negotiations. Dest is a good player, but currently not a target'', writes journalist Florian Plettenberg about the status of the American international.
The versatile wing defender is now preparing with Team USA for the upcoming World Cup and earlier this week it also emerged that the PSV player is available for a fee between 23 and 25 million euros. Dest has expressed a desire to leave multiple times in recent months.
Also due to these departure wishes, PSV would already be looking for a replacement for the American international who has a contract until mid-2028. Thus, PSV would have set its sights on Thierry Correia of Valencia CF and Sidny Lopes Cabral of Trabzonspor.
In addition, Zakaria El Ouahdi of KRC Genk has also been linked for months to a possible transfer to PSV as a replacement for Dest.

Saibari going and Dest rumours at the same time is messy, but ngl i like that PSV is already lining up names. El Ouahdi for me feels like the most realistic add-on if we lose both, but i need to see who actually gets minutes in our system. 👀
Thierry Correia and Sidny Lopes Cabral sound like proper squad-building moves, but i wonder how quickly PSV can adapt to their style if Dest leaves. With Dest contract until mid 2028, it feels like PSV is selling at the first opportunity rather than timing it properly. 🥲
Zakaria El Ouahdi erbij en dan ook nog Saibari weg... dat is ineens een hele klus om de balans te houden. Hopelijk zoeken ze echt een directe vervanger en niet alleen een vleugelverdediger die vooral meters maakt.
Dest saying he wants to leave and then Bayern says "geen target" is so typical, lol. Meanwhile our board is scouting like crazy, El Ouahdi and Thierry Correia... i just hope we dont end up with a downgrade for 2026. 🔥⚽
If Bayern actually came with zero talks for Dest, that already sounds like pure damage control. Still, PSV must act if his exit wish is real, 23-25m feels fair. Correia or Lopes Cabral better deliver fast, otherwise it becomes another late-window gamble.
"Dest is een goede speler, maar momenteel geen target"... top, Bayern weer druk met niks. Laat hem dan maar lekker verkopen als er een goed bod komt, anders wordt het gedoe tot zomer 2026.
Thierry Correia en Sidny Lopes Cabral... PSV zou wel echt door moeten pakken in de scouting. Correia ken ik nog niet zo goed, maar ik hoop dat ze niet weer een "nu kopen maar over 2 jaar pas goed" halen.
Sky zegt geen interesse, maar toch blijft het gerucht rond Dest hangen. In elk geval: als Dest echt echt wil vertrekken, dan moet PSV snel schakelen, want contract tot 2028 of niet.
"Dest is ... currently no target" so that rumor can finally die. Still, PSV shouldnt wait around for Bayern to change their mind, Zakaria El Ouahdi or Correia type options should be fast tracked imo.
Als Saibari al bijna weg is, dan is Dest dus ook geen verrassing. Maar die bedragen van 23-25 miljoen voor Dest... dat klinkt eerlijk gezegd te mooi om waar te zijn.
If Saibari really goes, i just hope PSV has a plan not just panic-buying. Dest saying Bayern is not interested is kind of a relief, but 23-25m for him and a summer scramble for replacements feels very risky 🔥
