News regarding PSV transfers: ‘They want either quality, or they don’t’”

PSV has already made the first summer signing of the 2026/2027 season with Sven Mijnans, and in addition Ismael Saibari was sold to FC Bayern Munich. Apart from bringing in Mijnans, summer transfers have yet to materialize so far, and that is causing a lot of fans concern.

PSV watcher Rik Elfrink from the Eindhoven newspaper Eindhovens Dagblad knows that too. Recently, Elfrink revealed in the podcast Heet van de Herdgang on the ED that the journalist sometimes receives threats via the social media platform X due to the lack of transfer news.

''I understand. If you are a supporter of a club and you see your rival signing players everywhere, or you see messages popping up everywhere. What it turns out to be, you of course always still have to wait and see. Ter Stegen is not finalized yet, but there is a new striker coming in for 19 million'', Elfrink says in that same podcast about the transfers of rival Ajax.

There is a lot going on in the transfer market at Ajax, while at PSV it is fairly quiet at the moment. The journalist understands somewhat that this causes unrest among the PSV supporters, but also believes that the fans should have confidence in the club management.

''I understand that people become uneasy about it, but on the other hand PSV has become champions three times in a row and has proven three times in a row that at the end of the transfer period there is a strong squad. That you don’t always want to wait for that and want to throw things into the world online, go ahead and do it'', Elfrink is of the opinion.

Still, the journalist knows that PSV is busy working behind the scenes on the transfer market. ''But people can also have confidence. PSV is indeed working on big-name deals. They either want quality, or they don’t. That has been the case over the past few years. And it will also take a long time before the market closes, even more than seven weeks'', concludes the PSV watcher.
