News about the starting striker position at PSV: 'The club is going for a cannon'

1 min read

Myron Boadu is probably not the intended first-choice striker for PSV when we look at next season. This is reported by Eindhovens Dagblad, which also has more news about the striker position for next season.

PSV seems to have plans to bring in a striker of renown. 'The cards for a longer stay for Boadu are not particularly favorable at the moment, but the door is not completely closed for him yet,' writes Eindhovens Dagblad. At the moment, Ricardo Pepi is the first-choice striker for PSV and, in the short term, Alassane Pléa will return to the squad after a long injury. As a result, there are question marks about Boadu's prospects in Eindhoven, something he himself would like to see continue while at PSV.

However, that doesn’t seem to be the case after all. If Pepi makes a transfer this summer, Boadu will not be seen as the intended first striker for PSV. “The club will then normally go for a ‘canon,’” writes Eindhovens Dagblad. Pléa’s return, on the other hand, comes with the necessary uncertainties, because he has been out for nine months already. It remains to be seen whether the Frenchman is able to return at the very highest level. Earlier, Telegraaf journalist and PSV watcher Jeroen Kapteijns already had doubts about that.

However, the door at PSV is still slightly open for a longer stay for Myron Boadu, as the Eindhovens Dagblad also reports. In short, there are uncertainties all around regarding the striker position. The 25-year-old striker is not yet completely out of the picture for next season’s squad selection, but he will have to be patient.
