Kodai Sano reacts to interest from PSV

Apparently, that is something the lead actor lets it be known himself in conversation with regional media. Kodai Sano was or is not in talks with PSV. The NEC midfielder says this in conversation with Omroep Gelderland. On Saturday, Sano was 'simply' part of the squad during a friendly match with Al Faya. For a long time, it seemed the Japanese player would be transferred to TSG Hoffenheim, but things turned out differently.
"I was sorted with that club and would go there, but that’s past now. A transfer is always difficult. I know that from last season and now again. Nothing is certain, but I like playing football and we’re now focusing on the European match in the Champions League with NEC. My agent is working for me in the meantime. Everything is still open; that’s how I see it myself, too."
Coach Dick Schreuder reacted to the goings-on. "We conducted ourselves properly towards Hoffenheim. We wanted to cooperate and the fee was good, but at the last moment it didn’t go through. That’s also part of football."
The name of Sano, who still has a contract in Nijmegen for two years, is also often mentioned at PSV, but the Japanese player is clearly aware of the alleged interest from Eindhoven. "There are a lot of rumors. PSV? No, I haven't spoken with them. No, not with a club in the Premier League either. But I have now played two years for NEC and I am open to a transfer. Whether one will come? Fifty-fifty. I can go or I might not."

Ngl the PSV Inside part about our buildup was spot on. When the fullbacks tuck in too early, the space for our wingers disappears and it turns into slow recycling. We need one more direct pass on the half-turn.

If PSV actually stick to that high press like the article suggests, i can see them pinning opponents early... but only if the midfield stays compact. Otherwise itll be nice counter football for the other team, not us. 👀
