Special twist: new head coach of the Netherlands national team to be presented soon
1 min readEarlier this week, De Telegraaf reported that there is a major stumbling block in talks between Arne Slot and the KNVB regarding the head coach position of Oranje. Where Slot wants a contract for two years, the football association wants a contract for four years.
Despite this, the juice channel RealityFBI reported Tuesday afternoon that an agreement will be reached between the coach and the KNVB. As a result, Slot will soon be presented by the KNVB as Ronald Koeman’s successor.
The channel also reports that this concerns a two-year commitment. As a result, Slot will be at least the national coach until the European Championship 2028 if we are to believe RealityFBI, who also confirms that it is only a rumour and nothing has yet been confirmed by the KNVB.
Moreover, it is also mentioned that Peter Bosz may possibly become Slot’s successor afterwards. Bosz has also been asked frequently over the past few weeks about a potential national team coaching role, despite the fact that the head coach has extended his contract at PSV until mid-2028.
The current PSV coach also walked away from an interview twice when asked about the national team coach position. Earlier, De Telegraaf’s PSV watcher Jeroen Kapteijns said in the podcast Kick-off that Bosz is interested in becoming head coach of the Netherlands, but only on the condition that PSV’s contract allows it.

"het slechts om een gerucht gaat" ok maar waarom voelt dit alsnog als waarheid 😂 Als ze Bosz na Slot bedoelen, dan is het voor PSV denk ik zaak om Bosz gewoon te laten staan en niet te laten wiebelen door Oranje-ruis.🔥
Als Slot echt gepresenteerd wordt, dan betekent dat meteen meer druk op onze staf en spelers. Maar ik snap Bosz ook, die blijft liever gewoon doorbouwen bij PSV tot het contract het toelaat. Volgende stap is niet in januari regelen, maar pas als de voorwaarden kloppen. PSV moet hier altijd de regie houden.
i dont buy het "akkoord" verhaal van RealityFBI tot KNVB het zelf zegt. Van Slot wil men 4 jaar en nu ineens 2... tbh dat schuift allemaal. Als Bosz alleen kan als PSV toestemming geeft, dan is het toch vrij simpel: eerst PSV, dan Oranje. 👀
Als Bosz mogelijk opvolger zou worden, dan wordt het voor PSV straks weer een continu spelletje onderhandelingen. Ben benieuwd of hij ooit echt praat als de KNVB en PSV tegelijk moeten schuiven. 👀
"akkoord zal plaatsvinden" zegt RealityFBI... sure lol. maar als het maar gerucht is, dan voelt het toch alsof er weer druk wordt gezet op zowel Slot als de KNVB. en ondertussen zit Bosz gewoon aan zijn PSV-plan.
Bosz na Slot lijkt me echt een PSV-issue. hij heeft een contract tot 2028 en loopt al twee keer weg voor interviews over Oranje, dus dit ruikt naar spookverhalen. tbh die "2 jaar" voor Slot klinkt als iets wat snel moet worden geslikt.
lol Bosz als opvolger vind ik spannend, maar hoe gaat dat dan met zijn contract tot 2028? Als Slot straks Oranje pakt en KNVB toch 4 jaar wil, dan ruikt het naar gedoe tot het officieel is. ⚽
so KNVB wil 4 jaar, Slot wil 2... typische powerplay. als het echt rondkomt wordt het in ieder geval niet meer frustrerend wachten, maar ik snap de twijfel nog steeds.
