It looks more and more like he won’t stay.

1 min read

At this point, you have to wonder why no agreement has yet been reached between PSV and Anass Salah-Eddine’s agent.

Besides, we can also point to the player himself in the meantime, who would normally still have the final say in determining his future. In any case, an agreement is not yet close if we have to believe the latest reports.

PSV would like to exercise the purchase option of eight million euros, but the Salah-Eddine camp has not yet responded to the offer. The feeling at PSV is by now that the chance is greater that he will leave than that he will stay. Salah-Eddine is also being followed by foreign clubs. If he ultimately does not leave, PSV will move on and, for example, Mats Rots from FC Twente comes into the picture.

The situation around Salah-Eddine is being closely watched for now. Because also the Eindhoven Dagblad expects that it won’t work out anymore between PSV and the camp of Anass Salah-Eddine. At PSV there is a lot of certainty about the prospects for development, in addition to the fact that the high stage of the Champions League already offers opportunities for development at the highest level, but so far it has all not helped the defender, who apparently has more irons in the fire.

That having more irons in the fire provides no certainty was shown last season in Rome, where Salah-Eddine received hardly any playing time. A renewed choice for a club like AS Roma would again bring a great deal of uncertainty. Rik Elfrink of Eindhovens Dagblad also sees it as unlikely that Salah-Eddine will stay at PSV for longer without difficulty.

'It increasingly looks like he isn't going to stay,' the PSV watcher concludes in the podcast Heet van de Herdgang. Elfrink also says that he still finds it quite surprising that an agreement takes so long to come.

This feels like a pure negotiating stalemate.

Tbh i get why PSV is confident development matters, but Salah-Eddine has had chances and still not enough minutes. Its not just perspective, its impact. Rots from Twente sounds like the logical plan if this drags on.

8 million buy option being available and still no deal... that tells you everything. Either he doesnt trust playing time, or the agent is playing hardball. Either way, he might be "mid" for us if he keeps waiting.

Im more worried about the timing. If we wait too long and then switch to Mats Rots, other clubs will already have moved. Also if he wants abroad, say it and move on.

"Het ziet er steeds meer naar uit dat hij niet blijft" bruh, thats exactly the vibe the whole season had. If he couldnt force it in Rome, why would it suddenly become easy here? Mats Rots pls and stop the drama 😅

If PSV really wants the 8 million option but his camp is silent, then yeah... it screams theyre waiting for a better offer elsewhere. Idk how long we can justify tying up a spot like that.
