PSV seems to be waiting until the transfer is finalized before aiming its multi-million bid at NEC.
1 min readAfter a strong season at NEC in which Dick Schreuder’s surprise squad managed to secure third place, midfielder Kodai Sano has attracted a great deal of interest from home and abroad. Despite a strong season, Sano has not traveled with the Japanese squad to the World Cup in North America.
Among others, PSV would like to bring the Japanese midfielder to Eindhoven. However, PSV is not the only club that wants to sign the Japanese player. The Japanese player, who is not an international this summer, is a sought-after player this summer and that will not simply change until the moment a transfer takes place.
Transfer journalist Mounir Boualin from Soccernews.nl reports that, among others, the German VfB Stuttgart and TSG Hoffenheim are also fully in the running to bring Sano to their club. PSV is also mentioned by Boualin, but according to the club leadership at PSV, no bid has yet been made for the Japanese player.
The chance, according to the transfer journalist, is also present that PSV will hold off on making an offer for Sano until the sale of Ismael Saibari to FC Bayern Munich is definitely finalized. Saibari will leave for a record sum to Der Rekordmeister, and the expectation is that the deal will only be completed after 30 June.

In addition to interest from the Bundesliga, the Japanese midfielder would also be in the sights of several Premier League clubs. In any case, PSV faces fierce competition in the race for the sought-after Sano.

I get the Saibari logic, but competition is brutal here. If Stuttgart or Hoffenheim get him, PSV will look like they were too late with their timing. imo Sano should be targeted now, not after the paperwork with Bayern. 👀
"nog altijd geen bod uitgebracht" bruh... that is such a PSV position lately. Kodai Sano is in demand and PSV delays, meanwhile the Bundesliga clubs are moving fast. 🔥
If PSV wait for Saibari to Bayern before even placing a bid for Sano, that feels risky. By the time 30 June is done, Stuttgart and Hoffenheim could have already agreed terms. c'mon, make it a statement offer early.
