Million transfer | BILD and Kicker point to PSV and express doubts
1 min readIt is almost round. Only details still separate PSV, Saibari and the German million-euro club from a deal between all parties. The German top club is throwing around millions, €55 million to be precise.
German media are convinced, with good reason, of the added value of Ismael Saibari, but there are also doubts. We go back to PSV - FC Bayern Munchen, earlier this year. Immediately after the final whistle, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany approaches Saibari. The scene is telling, especially now that the parties have reached agreement on the mega-deal. For German media, for BILD and for Kicker, to be precise, that is exactly where the shoe pinches now.
According to BILD and Kicker, the million deal would only come about at the behest of Kompany. 'Ismael Saibari would be a 'Vincent Kompany transfer'. The Moroccan was not high on the club's scouting list, but the coach really wanted him', it sounds on X at Bayern & Germany.
'Bayern looked more at wingers and did not necessarily plan to add a central player, given that Musiala, Gnabry and even Karl can cover that role. Vincent Kompany, however, put Ismael Saibari’s name on the table after a conversation with the player and insisted on bringing him in. The club decided to grant Kompany his wish,' Bayern & Germany says, pointing to BILD and Kicker.

That quote about "taking the chances early" feels like a message after recent wastefulness. Fingers crossed PSV are sharper in the box today, because one or two goals early changes everything. Wont be an easy watch if we miss sitters, thats for sure 🚀
Eens. If the fullbacks push high like the article suggests, we need at least one midfielder covering the half-space. Otherwise its gonna be open season on counters, ngl 👀
Gakpo starting again worries me a bit, not because he is bad, but because we might become too predictable. I want more runs from the right and a quicker switch to the winger. Otherwise teams sit deep and we struggle to break them down 💀
"We need intensity from the start" is all nice, but Ajax always says similar stuff lol. Please dont go 15 minutes sloppy, because then it turns into damage control fast. Get the press right and im happy.
"Keep it simple and play through the lines"... fair, but you also need pace in the final third. Till Xaver and the wingers stop delaying their pass, im not convinced we score early, and that changes everything 💯⚽
I get the idea behind the press, but when we go too aggressive our back line gets exposed. If the article is right about sticking with it, i need Saibari and Veerman to track better, otherwise its gonna be a long night 👀.
Bro, that PSV midfield look is so much better when the 6 stays split and doesnt panic forward. If Schouten sits like that again, we control tempo way more 🔥.
If that midfield setup is true, i get it but im not fully convinced. Sangare and Veerman need to control the tempo, otherwise we get stuck chasing second balls. Still, if Til plays with freedom, we could cook 🔥
