PSV turns its sights on Northern Spain for reinforcements: “Fixed buyout clause”
1 min readPSV has been placed, according to an international transfer journalist, in the north of Spain. Stewart and his team would have set their sights on a Girona player, with a buyout clause of 8 million euros in his contract.
The message looks more like a rumor than actual serious interest. It would be about the player Arnau Martínez from Girona. That news comes from transfer journalist Matteo Moretto. The 23-year-old right-back has a buyout clause of eight million euros in his contract, a sum that would be realistic for PSV.
The departure of Salah-Edinne and possible departure of Dest means that a decision needs to be made quickly regarding reinforcements on the wings. Martínez could therefore come into serious consideration. Transfer journalist Moretto writes that many clubs, including Real Betis and Fulham, have shown interest in the Spaniard. The right-back had meanwhile already played twelve caps for Spain U21 and could call himself a starter at FC Girona.
Martínez has a background with FC Barcelona and, after a brief stop at CE L'Hospitalet, arrived at Girona in 2018. He already has experience, as with more than 198 appearances for Girona he is well regarded. After his club Girona was relegated, his departure from La Liga is virtually certain. The defender would reportedly be looking to pursue a move abroad.

Es muy probable que Arnau Martínez abandone el Girona este verano: ya hay varios clubes interesados en él, entre ellos Betis, Fulham y PSV.

Eens. But if Luuk is starting at 9, we gotta get him service early, otherwise he becomes isolated and it turns into endless crosses. Naah, more through balls, less hopeful stuff. 🚀
"PSV Inside" talking about intensity but im not convinced it fixes the final third. We keep creating from the inside, yet the last ball is either late or too soft. That is the difference between a good run and a title run. 🤬
De vraag is eigenlijk wie de 8 wordt in de opbouw. Als nobody offers between the center backs, we keep recycling possession and it turns mid. 🤡
Gut feeling: the article is right about the midfield balance, but i still think Til and Veerman need to rotate faster in possession. When they stay too square, opponents can bait the pass and reset.💯
"PSV Inside" keeps mentioning the press, but i feel the press starts too high then we lose shape when they play through. Need the holding mid to drop earlier, or its chaos again. 🔥⚽
Keeper was solid today, but the defense still looks shaky on the counter. 👀💀
If PSV really goes with that high press again, i want it to be more coordinated. Last time it looked like half the team jumped and the other half jogged, ajax punished that space every time. 👀
Noni Madueke looked direct whenever he got half a turn, that pace is legit. But the final ball needs to be sharper, a few chances got wasted.
If PSV dont fix that midfield spacing, they will get punished again. tbh i saw the same issue last week, too many gaps between the lines.
