French fan account links PSV to an English winger
1 min readThe transfer summer has also kicked off at PSV after Ismael Saibari was sold to FC Bayern Munich and Sven Mijnans was taken over from AZ. In addition, it is still a question what will happen with players like Ivan Perisic and Sergino Dest.
Nothing concrete is still happening either around players like Joey Veerman and Mauro Junior, who, just like Dest, can leave for a fixed fee thanks to a release clause in their contract. It is also still unclear whether Myron Boadu will remain at PSV or whether the striker will return to AS Monaco after all.
Now comes @PSVFrench, the French PSV fan account on the social media platform X, with the question of whether PSV should make an attempt for Jadon Sancho. Sancho was under contract at Manchester United between 2021 and 2026, but he didn’t make it there.
Because of this, the English winger is currently available on a free transfer and therefore @PSVFrench is asking whether PSV should make an attempt for the Englishman. ''Jadon Sancho at PSV Eindhoven?'', the account asks, in translation.
According to the website Transfermarkt.de, Sancho is still worth eighteen million euros. In the summer of 2021, the Englishman moved for a fee of 85 million euros from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United, but at Old Trafford the winger failed to impress.
Also due to a conflict with Erik ten Hag, Sancho returned on loan at the start of 2023/2024 to Borussia Dortmund, before going on loan in 2024 to Chelsea FC. Last season, the forward was on loan from Aston Villa and Sancho is therefore currently enjoying a transfer-free status.
According to the German newspaper BILD, however, Borussia Dortmund is eyeing a return of the Englishman. Sancho would thereby have to become the successor to Karim Adeyemi, who is almost certainly set to leave for FC Barcelona.

Myron Boadu vraagtekens en Veerman/Dest nog onzeker, en dan komt Sancho als mogelijke buitenspeelbal. Ik denk dat PSV vooral moet mikken op rendement, niet op naam, tenzij ze een enorme deal kunnen sluiten (w, veel salarisruimte?) 🔥
Weet je wat het verschil maakt? Context en coach. Bij PSV kan hij weer z'n rol krijgen, zeker als Perisic of Dest-achtige situaties veranderen. Toch vind ik BILD nieuws over BVB wat te vroeg om op te gokken, dus PSV moet een plan-B hebben met Veerman/Dest clausules in het achterhoofd.
Als Adeyemi naar Barcelona gaat, dan ligt Sancho-logica wel voor Dortmund. Maar voor PSV is het een kans om een creatieve vleugel te pakken die goals en acties kan maken, mits we hem niet verliezen aan defensieve taken 👀.
Frans fanaccount of niet, dit is een classic "hoe zou het zijn als..." 🤡. Sancho had bij United drama door Ten Hag en druk, PSV moet niet opnieuw een projectspelertje nemen.
Iets met Saibari weg, Mijnans erbij, en dan Sancho erbij zou echt een statement zijn. Maar ik vraag me af of PSV French niet gewoon wishlist aan het droppen is... als BILD zegt dat Dortmund aast, is de concurrentie niet mis.

idk hoor, Sancho heeft zoveel gedoe gehad met ten Hag en nu is hij weer "vrij". Dat is talent maar ook een risico, want PSV moet niet weer een project deal doen. Ik zou liever eerst zien wie er voor de vleugel komt en hoe hij in de pressing past.
"Jadon Sancho bij PSV Eindhoven?" klinkt goed op papier, maar ik twijfel. Tbh als die 18 miljoen nog op Transfermarkt staat, dan gaat het onderhandelen alsnog heet worden, en we hebben liever een speler die meteen peak is.
Jadon Sancho transfervrij lijkt me echt een no-brainer als PSV hem kan laten draaien als echte inverted winger. 18 miljoen valuation is ook niet gek, maar ik vraag me af wie zijn salaris kan dragen. Wel kansen creëren voor Mbappe-achtige explosie, maar dan moet de tactiek hem voeden.
Sancho transfervrij is wel spicy, zeker als ze hem kunnen halen voor 0 en met salaris kunnen schikken. Maar imo eerst kijken of hij past bij onze pressing, want PSV heeft vleugels nodig die de bal ook houden onder druk.
