Fabrizio Romano has news: “Transfer almost certain to be finalized”

1 min read

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the transfer of Ismael Saibari from PSV to FC Bayern München is almost finalized. Romano writes this on the social media platform X.

The journalist writes that the midfielder has reached a personal agreement with FC Bayern and that PSV is also out with the club leadership of Der Rekordmeister. According to various media outlets, the club from southern Germany will put at least fifty million euros on the table to take over Saibari.

Earlier this week, a top-level meeting between the two clubs was already said to have taken place, but PSV watcher Rik Elfrink of Eindhovens Dagblad denied this rumor. Now, though, the transfer of Saibari to the German champions appears to be getting wrapped up quickly after all.

The Moroccan international is currently in the United States, where he is preparing with the Moroccan national team for the World Cup in Canada, Mexico and thus the United States. Saibari will presumably also undergo a medical check in the aforementioned country.

Earlier this week it also came out that Vincent Kompany, the Belgian success coach of Die Bayern, has given his approval for the transfer of Saibari to Munich. The midfielder would also have spoken with Kompany in the meantime.

"PSV have to be sharper in transitions." Facts. The possession phase is fine, but the moments after losing it are way too chaotic, especially after the quick layoffs. Fix that and this team starts looking dangerous again 💀

Interesting take about the fullbacks. Tbh if the left side keeps hesitating to step up, the winger will feast and our build-up becomes too predictable.

🔥🔥🔥 the pressing is the whole point. If we win second balls, we look unstoppable.

That build-up looked clean for 10 minutes, then the press got bypassed lol. When Zahavi drifts, we need someone to step in, otherwise its a free run for their 10.

"we have to be braver in possession" sounds good, but when the build up gets pressured we panic and lose it too often. I want more structure and less hero ball from midfield. Also, bring more width earlier, please. 🙄

Bro what is the point of the pressing if we dont win the second ball? Midfield looked a bit open, and thats why they created chances. We need better first-touch reactions. 💀

That setup the article mentions sounds risky. Cody Gakpo has to be more direct, otherwise he gets stuck receiving with his back to goal and we lose tempo, its not a PSV thing.

If PSV keeps playing that high line, teams will keep targeting the space behind the fullbacks. Its exciting going forward, but defensively it feels too risky, especially against a fast counter. 👀

Eens. But im not convinced the midfield balance is right yet. If Sangare cant screen those half-spaces, Cody just gets doubled and our width disappears.

Wie kijkt mee? 👀

Got to be honest, the quote about "calm on the ball" was nice, but Xavi Simons was the only one actually playing brave passes. Everyone else kept recycling, and then it got predictable. Idk, i hope the next match has more risk early in the second half 🔥

If PSV really went with that midfield setup again, it explains the control but also why we looked slow in transitions. De Jong looked sharp, though, and that press made Brugge hesitate at times. Still, we need faster switches from wide to box, otherwise opponents park and punish.

If PSV go with that same midfield shape, i swear it turns into a charity shop when press triggers. Gut feeling: we need more control in the half-spaces, otherwise teams will just overload the wide areas.

No way PSV sit so high and then leave that much space between the CBs, ngl it screams counter-attack disaster. Tillman is doing bits though, he actually looks brave on the ball 👀
