ESPN analyst urges PSV to set aside millions of euros: “They’re also paying 16 million for Van Bommel”

Arnold Bruggink advises Rots to take the right step and that is a domestic move to PSV. Perez thinks that, because of the transfer fee, is virtually unthinkable, but Bruggink then immediately breaks in. "If you look at PSV, I expect that Salah-Eddine won’t stay and Dest is also going. Peter Bosz wants attacking full-backs. They also paid sixteen million for Ruben van Bommel. So why wouldn’t they take Mats Rots? He has such enormous potential", it sounds.

Tbh 16 miljoen voor Van Bommel is niet hetzelfde als 16 miljoen voor een top-punt. Rots kan goated worden, maar ik geloof pas als PSV het ook echt rond krijgt en niet alleen praat.
Kenneth Perez saying the hand-out instinct when you lack IQ is pretty harsh, but i get the point. Still, Bruggink calling him "meer een dromer" makes me wonder if he can be consistent in a tougher league. Would be a brutal upgrade though, and very PSV-minded.
"power" en "voetballende backs" is Bosz taal. Als Dest weggaat en Salah-Eddine onzeker is, dan moet PSV gewoon slim investeren, anders blijft het rommelen in die backline 👀
Rots speelde slim, maar ik snap Brugginks punt over "altijd aan staan" wel. Alleen bij een stap naar het buitenland betaal je meteen de prijs als je net te laat bent. PSV zou hem in NL houden, tbh is dat de logischste route.
"Peter Bosz wil voetballende backs." yes, dan is dit precies de profiel match. Wel benieuwd of Rots het verdedigende moment ook keept als Salah-Eddine en Dest wegvallen en we meer druk krijgen. Maar goaten aan potentie, dit is geen mid signing, dit is een toekomstpakker. 💯
They paid 16 miljoen for Van Bommel, so why not Rots? That logic is kinda fire 🔥 but i also want evidence he handles the big-game pressure. If Bosz wants ball-playing fullbacks, Rots fits, but only if he learns the defending part fully.
Perez zegt "heel slim" over die keuze, maar ik denk dat het vooral gewoon pech en timing was. Toch ben ik het met Bruggink eens dat Rots voetballend zo makkelijk speelt dat hij bij ons echt kan groeien. Als hij "altijd aan" moet staan, dan is het vooral coaching, niet twijfel. 👀
De Bruggink hype snap ik wel: "voetbalt zo ongelooflijk makkelijk" is denk ik zijn grootste wapen. Alleen van Twente naar PSV is al een stap, laat staan buitenland, dan moet hij mentaal echt doorpakken 🔥
16 miljoen voor Van Bommel en dan zeggen ze dat Rots onhaalbaar is? imo cap, gewoon doorgaan. Als Bosz voetballende backs wil dan is Rots precies dat type, altijd aanzetten.
"Altijd aan te staan" is exactly what you need at PSV, especially against counters. Rots can be class on the ball, but i dont want another project defender who has one sleepy moment and you are toast. That said, tbh if Salah-Eddine leaves and Dest is gone, we need a proper solution fast.
die quote "altijd aan te staan" is precies het risico hoor. Als hij een keer out of sync is tegen grotere clubs dan betaal je direct.
Rots is echt zo'n type dat in posities geweldig leest. Maar die aankooplogica van "ze betalen 16 miljoen dus ze nemen Rots wel" is wel tricky... beetje te makkelijk gedacht imo.
Zucht... 16 miljoen voor Van Bommel is echt een goed punt. Als Bosz voetballende backs wil, dan is Mats Rots toch precies dat? Ik snap dat Perez het onhaalbaar noemt, maar tbh dit klinkt als PSV kan doorpakken. 🔥
If Bruggink is right and Rots has that "high football IQ", then PSV should absolutely test the market. But 16 miljoen voor Van Bommel is not the same as getting Rots to start immediately. Defenders who can't stay switched on scare me a bit.
