Departure for PSV loan player next?: “If there’s a good offer for him.”
1 min readWith the signing of Nick Olij and Matej Kovar, PSV decided at the start of the season to loan reserve goalkeeper Joël Drommel to Sparta Rotterdam. At the club in Rotterdam-West, Drommel made a good impression, and the chance therefore appears high that the goalkeeper will leave PSV this summer.
The goalkeeper played all league matches this season for the Spangen team and still has a contract with PSV until 2027. Nevertheless, PSV watcher Rik Elfrink of Eindhovens Dagblad expects PSV to cooperate in an eventual transfer next summer.
Elfrink tells this in the podcast Heet van de Herdgang by the ED. ''Drommel will, of course, go, if a good bid comes in for him. I was talking about him with a Sparta supporter. He said: actually, Drommel was perfectly fine for us this season. An excellent goalkeeper for Sparta, right there in the middle of the table'', according to the PSV watcher.
The journalist expects that clubs from Germany's 2. Bundesliga or England's Championship will presumably knock on PSV's door to sign Drommel. ''You'd think that Championship and 2.Bundesliga clubs will definitely come forward. But you don't know that, do you?'', Elfrink says about it.
In addition, Elfrink also does not rule out that Feyenoord could possibly make a move for the goalkeeper. ''Say, Timon Wellenreuther leaves Feyenoord. And then? I don’t rule out that such a club would then also make contact,'' concludes the PSV watcher.

Eens. Olij en Kovar zijn dan ineens de echte opties, en Drommel wordt dan al snel 'back-up' status. Als Championship of 2. Bundesliga komt aanzetten en Sparta-constructie was echt middenmoot-niveau, dan moet PSV echt niet te goedkoop gaan, Feyenoord erbij maakt het alleen maar extra interessant. 🐐⚽
Wie kijkt mee? I do, but i also think it is too easy to assume he will go. PSV might want to keep Drommel as an internal option until the right offer lands, because selling too early can backfire 💀.
Idk, "hartstikke prima voor ons dit seizoen" klinkt vriendelijk maar ook alsof hij net niet de topupgrade voor PSV is. Als Feyenoord hem pakt of een Engelse club, dan mogen we tenminste zorgen dat onze tweede keeper volgend seizoen echt klaar is. Anders wordt het een kwetsbare situatie.
Ik snap wel dat PSV Drommel verhuurde. Als hij in Sparta echt goed was, dan is het dom om hem te laten zitten zonder haalbare stappen. Maar alleen verkopen bij een goed bod, anders blijft ie gewoon een risico voor de speelminuten.
Championship or 2. Bundesliga sounds realistic, those leagues love reliable keepers. If German clubs are calling, PSV should be smart with the valuation, because Drommel has experience, contract until 2027 and a recent season where he played everything 👀.

Eens. But tbh PSV shouldnt sell for peanuts just because Sparta liked him. Also 2027 contract, so wait for the right bid, annars wordt het mid.
Tbh Kovar en Olij ervoor zorgt dat er geen ruimte meer is voor Drommel. Sparta had hem nodig en hij leverde alle competitiewedstrijden, dus dit is een win-win, maar ik ben wel benieuwd wie dan de back-up wordt bij PSV in de zomer.
"Drommel zal natuurlijk gaan, als er voor hem een goed bod komt." Dat klinkt logisch, maar PSV moet niet te makkelijk weggeven. Contract tot 2027 betekent toch dat je tenminste een fatsoenlijke transfersom wil, niet zomaar verkopen voor de prikkie 😅
Feyenoord sniffing around... classic. If Wellenreuther leaves, they will try to steal another keeper. Hope PSV tells them no and asks for top money, otherwise it feels like selling to a rival 😅.
Tbh Drommel doing "all competitiewedstrijden" for Sparta shows he is not some dead backup. Still, i feel PSV might get a good fee because clubs know he is ready-made, goated for rotation 🔥.
"Als er voor hem een goed bod komt" is exactly the line i expected. For me it depends on who else is coming in, because Kovar and Olij will not magically cover every competition issue. Give us a proper number 2 and let Drommel move.
If Sparta want him again, fair, he was solid every week. But PSV should not rush it, if the offer is mid, keep him as backup.

Joël Drommel verhuurd aan Sparta en dan nu weer nadenken over vertrek... snap ik wel. Als hij daar in de middenmoot steady blijft, dan is die "goede indruk" natuurlijk precies wat clubs zoeken.
If Drommel gets a decent offer, i get it. Sparta used him every week and he looked solid. But i just hope PSV doesnt regret it if his value spikes again.
