Valentijn Driessen reports which Ajax player Peter Bosz would like to have: “Match PSV’s style of play.”

Last Saturday, PSV played to a draw at Ajax in the dying minutes. Despite a 1-2 lead, it was Mika Godts who, in stoppage time, set the final score at 2-2 at the Johan Cruijff Arena and thereby perhaps saved a crucial point for the Amsterdam side in the race for (preliminary) Champions League.

Valentijn Driessen speaks about a qualitatively impoverished confrontation and is of the opinion that this match may not be called a Topper. In doing so, Driessen especially points to Ajax coach Oscar Garcia.

''Ajax is under Oscar Garcia by no means Ajax. He preaches the gospel of Johan Cruijff, but is a first-rate coward. Because Wout Weghorst was ill. he not only replaced the striker for Kasper Dolberg, he immediately passed up the offensive Oscar Gloukh for the defensive Ko Itakura'', writes the journalist in his column for De Telegraaf.

Driessen is of the opinion that Ajax did not play to win against PSV. ''For Jordi Cruijff there is a lot of work to do for whoever saw the team against PSV'', the journalist believes.

According to the journalist, only Mika Godts and Kasper Dolberg received a good grade for their performance against PSV. Driessen is of the opinion that Dolberg was the best Ajax player last Saturday.

Therefore, he also thinks that Bosz would like to have him at PSV. ''Bosz, who knows Dolberg well from their successful season 2016-2017 at Ajax, would undoubtedly like to have him at PSV. Pepi scores more easily, but the range of qualities that Dolberg has fits better with the style of play that Bosz has in mind. In the meantime, at Ajax they are mainly letting Dolberg wither away on the bench'', as Driessen puts it.
