Will Feyenoord approach PSV? “Above-average interest”

1 min read

ESPN reported recently as well. Feyenoord has “above-average interest” in a player from PSV and PSV would already be open to a transfer. The question, however, is whether PSV wants to strengthen a rival because with Drommel in goal in Rotterdam, Feyenoord is not exactly made weaker.

Feyenoord is interested and keeps an eye on developments surrounding Joël Drommel 'with above-average interest'. ESPN reports this over the weekend. Earlier, the Eindhoven newspaper Eindhovens Dagblad already said that Drommel has appeared on the radar in Rotterdam-South and that the Rotterdam club would also want to move ahead for Drommel.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper for Sparta, owned by PSV, has had an excellent season. At Sparta, Drommel kept a clean sheet eleven times. In Eindhoven, Drommel still has a contract through mid-2027.

ESPN once again reports that an overseas adventure beckons for the goalkeeper from Bussum, but that Feyenoord is also keeping an eye on Drommel’s situation 'with above-average interest'. It is possible that the Rotterdammers will have to look for a replacement for Timon Wellenreuther. The German could be on the list to be sold, since his contract still runs for one more season.

PSV is according to ESPN willing to cooperate with a transfer for Drommel. With Matej Kovar and Nick Olij, coach Peter Bosz has two experienced goalkeepers at his disposal. Kovar was linked this week to a possible transfer to Serie A. Napoli would have Kovar on its radar.

Eens. If PSV let the opponent settle, it becomes one of those nights where we run around chasing the ball. Keep the tempo, punish the first mistake, simple as that.

"intensity from the first minute" 😂 bro we were chasing ghosts early. Still, props for coming back, but if those chances had gone in we would be talking peak PSV, not damage control 💯⚽

Why does it feel like we play better without the ball? When we lose it, the press looks frantic and then the back line is left too exposed. tbh Id like to see more structure, not just vibes 👀

❤️ Warming up to the idea of that front three, if they keep running in behind. That kind of movement forces mistakes and creates easy chances. Lets go, PSV! ⚽🔥

"PSV Inside" saying we can play the same way all season is a bit of a cap. Ajax will adapt, and if our build-up gets disrupted, the whole system stalls. Need a Plan B that doesnt rely on one player turning magic on every match.

Tbh i think the biggest upgrade is the wing timing. Once the wingers arrive earlier, Simons (or whoever plays there) gets those turns with space, and thats peak PSV play ⚽🔥

That line about the tactics being flexible... sure, but lets not pretend it works with the same intensity every match. When we dont win the duels, it turns into damage control.

Lmao that defensive line thing sounds risky. When the fullbacks step up without cover, you already know the counter is coming. Would rather see Dumfries hold a bit tighter and let the winger track back.

"PSV Inside" always makes it sound simple, but the midfield balance is the real issue. If Til starts drifting, we lose the second ball and suddenly the fullbacks are exposed 💀

Gakpo still looks a bit too casual in the build up for me, like hes choosing the safe pass every time. Give me more direct runs, thats where the danger is 🔥👀

The quote about "intensity from the first minute" sounded nice, but the first 20 minutes were pretty messy, ngl. Cody Gakpo still looks like our best outlet, though. If we can get him more touches between the lines, we win more comfortably.

If PSV press like the article hints, Gakpo needs to be closer to the 9. Right now the spacing can get messy and that gives the opponent an easy bypass.

If that midfield setup is what PSV are going with again, im not convinced. We need more control in the half-spaces, otherwise teams just bypass Veerman and Xavi at the wrong moments. Big test for the pressing too, tbh.

I actually like the way we controlled the midfield, but if we keep starting so slow we will get punished against faster teams. Frimpong needs to be smarter with his final pass, that cross was almost there but not quite 🔥
