PSV makes first bids for top talents, but doesn’t take them seriously

1 min read

PSV has recently received concrete interest in talents Essiën Bassey and Sami Bouhoudane, writes the Eindhovens Dagblad. Although both players would not rule out a move directly, the club is currently not planning to cooperate with a departure.

According to reports, SC Cambuur has tabled a proposal of €200,000 for Bouhoudane. For Bassey, Sturm Graz is said to have even made an offer of €500,000. However, PSV sees no reason to pursue these offers and is sticking with the young players, who are both still under contract until mid-2027.

PSV wants to give both Bassey and Bouhoudane the chance to show themselves during the pre-season ahead of the new season. That is why they are part of the squad that starts training at the end of June for the first sessions under Peter Bosz. Due to the expected arrival of new players and the absence of a few internationals because of the World Cup, talents from their own academy get extra opportunities to prove themselves.

A transfer in a later stage of the summer is not fully ruled out, but at this time the focus is on their development within PSV.

Regarding the contract situation, there are differences. PSV would like to continue longer with Bassey and is working on a contract extension, although no agreement has been reached yet. With Bouhoudane, no new proposal has been made so far. If that does not happen, then there is a risk that the forward will leave on a free transfer after next season.

"We showed character" is fair, but lets be real, character alone doesnt win the league. Need more clean chances created, and less possession lost in dumb areas. Its time for a bit more decisiveness up front. 🤬

"play with more courage" bro we need that, not just nice passing. Make the runs early, and then this turns into a proper banger. 🔥⚽

Eens. The quote about "finding rhythm" is true, once we speed it up, the opponent looks scared. If we keep the tempo, we win those games. 💯

"PSV Inside" always hits different 🔥 I just want that left side more aggressive, Til needs to be a problem early, not after 60 minutes.

I liked the way they rotated the attack, especially when the fullback joined higher. But the finishing looked a bit off, those chances had to be goals. Still, the structure is there, keep building on it. 🚀

The part about the midfield control is accurate, but we also need better protection in transition. When the press gets bypassed, our backline has to cover too much space, and it shows.

tbh i like the intensity, but the fullbacks got caught too high a few times. If their positioning stays like that, the counter risks will always be there.

Bro, the midfield balance looked off to me. If Veerman sits too deep, we lose the second ball and the press gets dragged... also, i want more urgency from the wingers, not just recycling.

If PSV are really going 2 banks of 4 again, im not convinced it breaks teams down. Xavi Simons needs to be more direct, otherwise its just safe possession.

If PSV really tried to play through the middle more often, it makes sense. But once teams press Gakpo or Veerman, we look one step late. Need quicker triggers in possession.

tbh i dont think PSV can rely on wing crosses every game, the fullbacks just step up too easily. If Tillman starts drifting inside, then they need runners behind immediately, no slow buildup. Otherwise it becomes predictable and Feyenoord-style counters hurt us.

Bro, the press was inconsistent. First 15 minutes were intense but then it turned into jogging, and that allowed them to reset. We cant rely on luck if thats the plan. 💀

If PSV want to play through the middle, they need the 6 to be braver on the ball. I saw too many safe passes, and it makes our wingers wait way too long. 👀

If PSV really wants to play through the middle more, De Jong has to get the ball cleaner. Right now teams press him and it turns into chaos too fast. Also, Noni Madueke must be more selfish in the box, those chances are there.
