Three years ago already since this news came out

On 12 June 2023, PSV officially announced the news that Peter Bosz had been appointed as the new head coach. After club icon Ruud van Nistelrooy stepped down, the club management had to look for a new coach for the 2023/2024 season, and as a result, Bosz became the new coach.

The final stage of the 2022/2023 season was messy at PSV. On 24 May 2023, a few days before the last league match away at AZ, Van Nistelrooy stepped down due to a sense of lack of confidence from the club management. As a result, assistant coach Fred Rutten was at that moment the one ultimately responsible for the away match in Alkmaar, where a spot in the Champions League preliminary round was at stake for PSV.

Ultimately PSV won 1-2 away to AZ and thus secured its place in the preliminary round of the billions ball. In addition, PSV also got help from Enschede where FC Twente won 3-1 against Ajax.

After the season, PSV therefore had to look for a new coach and ultimately it was decided to appoint Peter Bosz. Supporters of rival clubs initially didn’t mind seeing Bosz become coach of PSV, since the manager was known for never winning a trophy.

By now Bosz has been on the job for three seasons at PSV and the born resident of Apeldoorn has three national titles to his name. In addition, PSV also won the Johan Cruyff Shield twice with Bosz and managed to qualify twice for the round of 16 of the Champions League.

In addition, Bosz decided to extend his contract, which was due to expire in the middle of this year, by at least two years, and as a result the coach will be with PSV for at least another two years. So the Bosz era at PSV began exactly three years ago and is far from over.
