This German club is competing with PSV for Ruud Nijstad
1 min readVarious media reported on Thursday morning that PSV has shown interest in taking over defender Ruud Nijstad from FC Twente. Among others, Tubantia and Eindhovens Dagblad reported on the PSV interest in Nijstad.
In addition, Voetbal International also reported that PSV had already made an offer of around five to six million euros. This offer has meanwhile been rejected by the Tukker side.
Nijstad is also, according to various media, drawing interest from Chelsea and FC Barcelona. In the German Bundesliga as well, there is reportedly strong interest in the eighteen-year-old defender.
Now VI is coming out with the message that Eintracht Frankfurt, where former PSV players Mario Götze and Ritsu Doan are under contract, is competing with PSV in the race for Nijstad's signature. The club from Frankfurt would like to sign the defender very much.
Earlier this week, the Tukkers also already lost left-back Mats Rots for a sum of no less than sixteen million euros. Rots is continuing his career in Germany, where the defender is going to sign a contract with TSG Hoffenheim.

Ruud Nijstad at 18 would be a big upgrade option, but I hope we are not just chasing names. If the asking price jumps after Rots leaving for 16m, we might need to be careful. 👀
Ik snap die concurrentie wel, maar als Frankfurt er "dolgraag" voor wil gaan, wordt het lastig. PSV heeft er nu wel een echt sportief risico bij als ze de boot missen, zeker na het verlies van Mats Rots voor 16 miljoen.
Eintracht Frankfurt jumping in makes sense tbh. PSV selling this kid for a fair price is fine, but seeing Twente reject 5-6m means they want way more. 🔥
If PSV have already put in a 5-6m offer, that is a decent move. But with Chelsea and Barca sniffing around, we need to speed up or itll go the classic way...
