Sneijder confronted with Bosz ruling: “I didn’t say it would be the right choice”

A few weeks ago, PSV coach Peter Bosz was a guest on De Rood Wit Podcast, and in it the coach looked back with the podcast’s regular guests on a statement by Wesley Sneijder last year in Rondo. This was during the period when PSV, over the 2024/2025 season, had to deal with a serious slump and squandered a nine-point lead.

Bosz was then critical of Sneijder because the former midfielder said that 'PSV had to do something' when the team went through a big dip in form. ''But good, maybe that's why Sneijder is not working in football,'' Bosz said about it in that same podcast.

On Monday evening, both men were seated together at the table and a look back was made at the statements of the record international. Sneijder explains why he made these statements.

''It is inherent to football that in nine out of ten cases the trainer’s position comes under pressure. And that I would find it very regrettable. I haven’t said that it would be a right choice'', Sneijder said.

In the end, it was decided not to say goodbye to Bosz, and that paid off well. Despite the slump after the winter break, the same happened to their rivals Ajax, and the Amsterdammers also squandered a nine-point lead, allowing PSV to go back to the top in matchday 33 and, on the final day, still clinch the league title.
