Guus Til praises former teammate: “I wish him the very best.”
1 min readLast season, Guus Til made a name for himself at PSV as a chance striker in Peter Bosz's squad. Til formed a successful duo with Ismael Saibari, who has since moved on to FC Bayern Munich.
Ultimately, Til was called up for the Netherlands national team’s World Cup squad thanks to his strong season at PSV. At the most recent World Cup, Oranje were eliminated in the second round on penalties due to Morocco.
Ironically, it was Ismael Saibari who decided the match over the Netherlands by firing in the decisive penalty. After the match, Saibari and Til swapped shirts when they spoke with each other.
In conversation with VoetbalPrimeur, Til talks about the painful souvenir that the current PSV has kept from the World Cup in North America. ''I spoke with him for a little while and we exchanged shirts. The shirt that hurt us is now at my home'', says the midfielder who can also play as a forward to VP.
Meanwhile, Saibari has left for South Germany for a record amount to pursue his career with FC Bayern München. ''I wish him all the best and I think he is a fantastic player'', said Til.

Wie kijkt mee? 👀🔥 We better not drop our intensity after 60 minutes again, thats when teams start running at our back line.
That line about "control in the half-spaces" sounds nice, but i want to see it with quicker combinations. When X player gets the ball facing goal, thats when PSV look lethal, otherwise it turns into sideways passing.
If PSV are serious about pressing, we need more from the midfield. Right now it feels like we win the ball and then immediately lose the second ball too often, thats whats killing us.
Im not saying PSV are doomed, but if you rely on Zerrouki-style passing lanes without the ball protection, you invite turnovers. Also, Dumfries at wing-back can be a weapon, but only if he tracks back, not just sprints forward. 😂

If PSV go back to a 4-3-3 but keep the same spacing from last game, Xavi Simons will cook. The way he drifts inside creates instant overloads, and our fullback just has to time the overlap. Do we finally commit to that or go timid again?
