Rik Elfrink points to former Feyenoord player as an option for PSV: “I think it could be an interesting one.”
1 min readPSV is still busy on the transfer market looking for defensive reinforcements. In addition, club management saw that earlier this week the outgoing transfers of Armando Obispo to RC Lens and Adamo Nagalo to Corum FK were called off at the very last moment.
According to PSV watcher Rik Elfrink from the Eindhoven daily paper Eindhovens Dagblad, it is certainly not out of the question that PSV will go to face Orange international Lutsharel Geertruida. Elfrink says this in the podcast Heet van de Herdgang of the ED.
Geertruida played until 2024 for Feyenoord and may leave his current employer RB Leipzig. The PSV watcher thinks that the former Feyenoorder is certainly a good option for PSV, who were loaned out to the English Sunderland last season.
''I don't rule it out. I think it could be an interesting opportunity. Leipzig normally wouldn't proceed with him. At least, not for their squad in the new season. Financially it will be difficult'', Elfrink says.
Tim Reedijk, a PSV watcher for Voetbal International, is also present in the podcast and also thinks that it will be financially difficult for PSV to bring the defender to Eindhoven.
''He had a great season in the Premier League. In the Netherlands he has won everything and experienced everything. He is also a real Feyenoord man, but that in principle means nothing, because those tend to end up at PSV more often... I would be surprised. Last winter, Geertruida was still linked to Liverpool, although that may have had something to do with Arne Slot. I would be surprised if he chooses a move to PSV. I think he wants to prove himself sooner in a foreign country'', said Reedijk.

The midfield balance is the key. If Schouten is the pivot, then the other guy must connect faster to the 10. Otherwise it becomes too vertical too soon and we lose possession straight away
The fullback positioning in the article worries me. When PSV goes too high, you can feel the counter threat coming from 60th minute onwards. Need more cover or it becomes a highlight reel for the opponent.

If PSV really want to press like this, Simons has to stay disciplined off the ball. When he drifts too far, the midfield gets exposed, and you feel it immediately 👀
