PSV winger temporarily sidelined after surgery
1 min readPSV loanee Adamo Nagalo is temporarily sidelined. The defender has been playing on loan for Turkish club Konyaspor since the winter and there the Burkina Faso international is of great value.
In the summer of 2024, Nagalo was still taken over by PSV from Danish FC Nordsjælland, but since his arrival in Eindhoven, the defender has been unable to make much of an impact. The Burkina Faso international managed only twelve official appearances for PSV’s senior team, and a final departure this summer therefore also does not seem out of the question.
According to Turkish media, Nagalo has suffered an appendicitis and the defender has also already been successfully operated on. It is therefore still unclear whether the Burkinabe will be able to play in the Turkish cup final on 24 May with his team.
Geçmiş Olsun Adamo Nagalo! 💚🤍

Blinded appendix is nasty, but good to hear he already had the surgery and it went well. The cup final is big, so I'm crossing my fingers he's fit enough, because he sounded like a key piece for Konyaspor.
To be fair, he never really got going at PSV, only 12 official games. Still, I hate seeing him sidelined, especially with that cup final coming up on 24 May.
Hope he recovers fast. Still, it is interesting how PSV sold him as a hopeful signing and then it did not really click, yet he is important in Turkey. Could be different system and rhythm.
Honestly, PSV signing him looked like a gamble and it never really worked. Only twelve official matches in Eindhoven is rough, so maybe this confirms they should have moved on sooner. Still, I feel for the player with the injury.
Honestly, 12 appearances for PSV is not exactly a success story, but injuries are a different thing. Still, it feels like PSV missed the moment to move him on earlier rather than letting it stall. Wishing him well though, poor timing with the cup final.
That sucks for Nagalo. A blindedarm issue can take you out completely, so hopefully the operation is what he needs and he is back quickly.
That is rough news for Nagalo. You can tell he is valued at Konyaspor, even if his PSV spell never really took off. Hope the recovery is quick and he can at least be fit for that cup final on 24 May.
Not shocked he didn't get much chance at PSV though. Only 12 official matches is tough, and it felt like he never really settled, so a fresh start elsewhere was always the likely outcome.
Nagalo out for the season is a shame. You can see why Konyaspor value him, but hopefully this surgery clears things up fast. If he misses the cup final on May 24, that will hurt them.
Ah man, that sucks. If he ends up missing the Turkish cup final, that is a big blow for Konyaspor, especially with how valuable he has been since the winter.
