Much praise for PSV player after match with Go Ahead Eagles: 'A fantastic player'
1 min readWith the help of Ivan Perisic, PSV beat Go Ahead Eagles 1-4 away on Sunday afternoon. As captain, the Croatian forward scored two goals in De Adelaarshorst.
Despite his age of 37, Croatia international is still of great value to Peter Bosz’s squad. Bosz himself also acknowledges this after the match to the camera of ESPN.
''I know how impressive it is that he manages to stick with it for so long. Not only physically—you also have to be able to summon the motivation every time. Knowing how to motivate yourself. Where he makes the difference? Actually, in everything. In rest. In nutrition. In training. And in extra training'', the coach told ESPN after the match.
The first goal of the experienced Croat came from a cross from right back Kiliann Sildillia and Perisic headed the ball hard into the far corner. ''Kiliann has a very good cross. They practice that together too, with the two of them. Often after a training, that Kiliann delivers crosses and Ivan finishes them. If you can do that in a match, it’s absolutely great,'' Bosz tells about it.

Guus Til also has spoken about the value of Perisic for PSV. ''Ivan can certainly still play for years. He is incredibly fit and very important for us. A fantastic player'', Til said after the match to ESPN.
On Perisic's first goal, Til is no more than full of praise. ''A bit like Luuk de Jong-ish. Fantastic. Rock-solid'', said the moment's striker.
Ryan Flamingo is also nothing but praise for the Croatia's headed goal and also about the fitness of Perisic, Flamingo is firmly. ''His header was like a shot. Ivan is a very good footballer. We have benefited a lot from him and I hope he can keep playing for a long time,'' said the defender.

Cool ideas, but I need to see it in the big moments. Against faster transitions, our shape has to be tighter and we cannot give away cheap counters.
I like the confidence in our fullbacks. If they push like that and still track back, it makes the whole left and right channels dangerous, especially against teams that sit deep.
If PSV are serious about pressing like the article says, Luuk and the midfield have to win the second balls more often. Right now, when the setup breaks, it feels like we chase instead of control.
I like the focus on rotation and protecting legs, but I am not convinced we have the depth for a full sprint in every competition. Still, the way they mentioned the wing play sounds promising, especially if the fullbacks keep overlapping.
If PSV actually stick with that high press, they can pin teams back and create chances early. The midfield looked brave in the article, but I hope the gaps in transition get fixed because that is where we always get punished.
