Marcel Brands makes striking revelation
1 min readGeneral Manager Marcel Brands has made a remarkable disclosure. Brands has in fact said that young players in Belgium can earn more than in the Netherlands and therefore also at PSV.
This tells the general director in the podcast De Bestuurskamer. Also, the location of the city of Eindhoven in the south of the Netherlands brings, according to Brands, the necessary advantages and disadvantages.
''On the one hand, because of the distance we have the chance to scout in Belgium. But we also have a lot of trouble with Belgian clubs taking players away from us,'' the general director says in the podcast.
Eindhoven is located less than twenty kilometers from the Belgian border and, partly because of that, PSV in the past has scouted multiple players who were active in Belgium. The best-known example is Ismael Saibari, who will now be going to earn PSV millions.

Salaries also play a major role according to Brands, and the managing director also goes into more detail about the salaries of the Dutch and Belgian competition. ''This sounds strange, but we cannot keep up with the salaries that Belgian clubs offer. At our place, guys leave who earn between €50,000 and €100,000. In Belgium they go for three or four hundred thousand'', Brands said.

Ngl, the wing choices felt off. When your fullback is overlapping but the winger is waiting, the whole side clogs up and opponents settle in.
How many times are we going to watch the same mistake, second phase goes chaotic and then we act surprised? Also, if the striker doesnt press from minute one, we lose the whole plan 🤡
"PSV Inside" talking like its already a title run lol... calm down. Still, i respect how PSV adjust mid-game, that makes them dangerous in every derby.
Tbh i think the article is a bit optimistic about the midfield control. The moments we win it back are nice, but we still struggle to keep possession long enough to pin the opponent.
"PSV Inside" really said a lot with one tactical tweak: get the wide players closer to the box. That helps the cutbacks and frees up the runner behind. Lets go, that's a banger ⚽
"PSV Inside" says we are controlling games, but possession without penetration is just pressure cosplay. Need more direct vertical passes, otherwise it becomes a slow burn with no payoff 🤡.
I agree with the focus on controlling the tempo, but tbh the article glosses over the build-up risk. If the fullbacks stay too high, opponents will just play around Veerman and force us into second balls 😅
🔥🔥🔥 If that front three clicks, PSV will murder these games. But defensively we cant be gambling every time, especially in transition.
If PSV keep starting with that front three, i think Sangare and Veerman have to be braver in the half-spaces. Otherwise it turns into hopeful crossing and we already know how that goes lol. Still, that intensity at the press looked promising 🔥
Goal!! If the coach is going with that midfield shape, i just want one thing: the wingers to track back properly. Otherwise its all vibes and no defense 😂
Not fully convinced by the rotation. If the article is implying we can rely on the same intensity every match, i think that is how you lose legs and games later in the season.
"PSV Inside" is really pushing the intensity angle... fair, but tbh we also need more control against teams that sit deep. Throwing everyone forward works until the first quick counter kills it, and then we panic.
🔥🔥🔥 Come on PSV, that press was actually cooking.
Omg this sounds like a plan to fix our buildup. But if the fullbacks stay too high again, teams will cut us open in 2 passes. Need better cover behind the ball, fr.
i like the intensity, but imo the buildup still gets stuck too often. Gut feeling: we need more quick one-twos through the half-spaces.
De Jong playing that deeper role is exactly what we need. Still, i worry about the right side when we lose the ball, too many times it feels like we are one pass behind.
"PSV Inside" saying it is all about intensity, okay fair... but imo the real difference is the build-up. Wenn Tillman doesnt get on the ball quicker, we stall and then it becomes cross-and-hope 😅
If PSV are really going with that high press from the first whistle, i like it. But we need Gakpo and Tillman to be brave in the first phase, otherwise itll get too easy to play through.
That defensive setup is always risky. If Tillman and Vrtchev get free lanes, we are basically playing roulette in midfield.
Im telling you, that pressing trigger they showed in the article is why we actually look dangerous. If we keep doing that with the front line, we win more second balls, easy.
