Former international points to Peter Bosz: “I think he would prefer…”
1 min readIf it were up to former Oranje international Daryl Janmaat, Arne Slot would become the new national team coach of the Netherlands. In addition, Janmaat, who finished third with the Netherlands at the 2014 World Cup, believes that current PSV coach Peter Bosz would also be an excellent fit for the KNVB.
This lets the former defender know in conversation with FCUpdate. According to Janmaat, Slot is currently the best candidate to become national team coach of the Netherlands national team.
''He is free. He has a good record. Had a good spell at Feyenoord and won the championship. Also made Liverpool champions. You hear a lot of positive stories about him. He has a good head on his shoulders and I think he is the number one candidate'', Janmaat says without a doubt.
Despite the name of the stadium, the names of Pep Guardiola and Michael Reiziger are also often mentioned. According to VI journalist Martijn Krabbendam, Reiziger was the KNVB’s dream candidate.

Still, the former defender thinks that Arne Slot is the one to make it, and in that context Janmaat also points to Peter Bosz. "I had found him a very suitable candidate, but he has signed on with PSV. So I think it will be Arne Slot," said the former Feyenoord player.
Still, the former international believes that Bosz still has a lot of hunger for the national team coach position. ''I think he would like, deep down, to be coach of the Netherlands national team'', concludes Janmaat

Bosz to Netherlands? Yeahhh i get it. But dont forget Slot is the one with the momentum now, ngl 🔥
"deep down, he would prefer to be the head coach of the Netherlands"... that sounds like wishful thinking tbh. Bosz looks settled and i want him fully focused on PSV now, no distraction. 😅
"I had found him a very suitable candidate, but he has signed an extension with PSV." Respect. But if Bosz stays and keeps winning, the KNVB will have no excuses later 👀
Slot being "free" and ready makes sense, but i kinda feel Bosz deserves a shot too. He built something strong here, and the team's structure is clear...
Janmaat saying Slot is the number one candidate makes sense to me, the record is just too clean. But Bosz being mentioned too shows he has credibility beyond PSV. 👀
Love how Janmaat mentions Bosz's hunger, but tbh Peter likely wont leave mid-project at PSV just yet. Still, if they ever call, you know he would listen.
Bosz as Oranje coach would be so peak. He wants control and intensity, that would fit the NT vibe imo.
Bosz signed that extension with PSV, fair play, but ngl i still think he has that KNVB job hunger. If they ever move, he'd fit the Dutch style perfectly. 🔥
