Transfer income around | PSV already has more than half of the expected €10 million in transfer revenue after the involvement of an agent

''The sluggish talks were quickly pulled together by Ali Dursun, the agent for the PSV defender. The clubs have just reached an agreement in broad terms on a transfer fee, which can rise through bonuses towards 5.5 million euros, sources close to RC Lens report'', writes PSV watcher Jeroen Kapteijns of De Telegraaf.
Last week, Voetbal International and Eindhovens Dagblad already reported that the French number 2 from last season had tabled an offer for Obispo. PSV, however, wanted to receive at least five million euros, while the French had made a bid of between two and three million.
However, it now appears that a breakthrough is still emerging in the negotiations between PSV and RC Lens. Earlier, French outlet Foot Mercato reported that talks between the two clubs were still ongoing and that the French viewed PSV as a stubborn negotiating partner.
Only a medical examination can prevent the defender’s final departure. In northern France, a four-year contract is on the table for the Curaçao international.
Since his debut for PSV’s first team in 2018, Obispo has, however, never been an unquestioned choice. Until last year, the 27-year-old defender mainly had to make do with Olivier Boscagli. And last season, the defender faced plenty of competition from Yarek Gasiorowski, who was, in the second half of the season, kept out of the starting lineup by Obispo.
Meanwhile, it also appears that the millionaire signing Adamo Nagalo is set to leave, which will net PSV more than four million euros as well. That suggests that around 10 million euros are on the horizon. In any case, Obispo will already generate more than half of that upcoming 10 million euros.

Ik vind Obispo wel gewoon een belangrijke schakel geweest, alleen dat onomstreden gedoe blijft terugkomen. Vorig seizoen heeft Gasiorowski hem inderdaad laten zweten, en dan is dit vertrek voor mij logisch maar niet ideaal. Als we slimmer onderhandelen bij de opvolger, dan is deze overgang alsnog een winst.
"Een stugge onderhandelingspartner" lol, altijd leuk als PSV in de pers die rol krijgt. Maar 2-3 miljoen bod en dan 5 miljoen eisen is wel echt een verschil. Hopelijk gaat de medische keuring ook zonder gedoe, anders wordt het weer gezeur.
"stroeF lopende gesprekken zijn vlot getrokken" ja maar eerst zat PSV nog op minimaal 5 miljoen en Lens zat op 2-3. Ik ben benieuwd wat er nu precies in die bonussen zit, want anders voelt het alsnog als te weinig.
5,5 miljoen is niet slecht voor een speler met zo veel twijfelmomenten. Maar imo moeten we niet doen alsof Obispo altijd de oplossing was. Als Lens hem met 4 jaar contract binnenhaalt, dan is dat ook een signaal dat PSV hem niet meer als vaste waarde ziet.
If this deal is really up to 5.5m with bonuses, then fair for 20 years service. Wel jammer hoor, maar gezien de concurrentie met Boscagli en Gasiorowski was hij nooit echt onmisbaar.
20 jaar Obispo en dan nu toch weg. Tegelijk snap ik het financieel wel, als Lens echt richting 5,5 miljoen kan gaan betalen na bonussen. Benieuwd of Boscagli/Gasiorowski nu compleet genoeg zijn om dit gat op te vangen.
