Feyenoord fans are full of optimism for the new season: “PSV has already dropped points in friendly matches.”
1 min readDespite the fact that Feyenoord has not played a part in the title race over the past two seasons and that there has also been turmoil on the administrative front in Rotterdam-Zuid, some supporters still have high hopes for the new season. So much so that they expect to prevent PSV from winning the fourth consecutive championship.
Last weekend Feyenoord held an open day for supporters under the name Feyenoord Festival. The regional broadcaster RTV Rijnmond was there and interviewed several Feyenoord fans who are rather overly hopeful about the 2026/2027 season.
''We have already won three matches, so I think we’re just going to become champions,'' says one of the supporters confidently for the camera of the regional broadcaster, pointing to PSV afterwards. ''PSV has already dropped points in friendly matches. For me, those are just points. If they also do that in the league, then that’s perfect for us.''
Another fan is asked whether the Coolsingel has already been reserved. ''Yes, a spot at the front is reserved, a sign is hanging there, ready,'' it sounds without any doubt.
Another supporter also thinks that Feyenoord will be champions instead of PSV. In addition, it is expected that Giovanni van Bronckhorst's team will play better than last season under Robin van Persie.

Tbh that quote about friendlies is cope. Even if PSV are sloppy in oefenwedstrijden, PSV are usually ruthless once the games count. Feyenoord might improve, but predicting "PSV from the fourth title in a row" already feels like wishful thinking 🤡
"We have al drie wedstrijden gewonnen" goed hoor, maar PSV draait in de competitie vaak pas echt op als de druk komt. Als Feyenoord "een plekje vooraan" heeft gereserveerd, dan zouden ze beter hopen dat het geen spijtplek wordt 😂
I mean fair confidence, but "PSV has already dropped points in friendlies" is such a weak argument. Van Bronckhorst or not, preseason is not the same as a title run.
