VI reporter clear about PSV interest in Ruud Nijstad: 'Would be a huge asset'
1 min readIt has now become clear that PSV has set its sights on signing defender Ruud Nijstad. The defender of FC Twente still has one year left on his contract and is also attracting interest from foreign clubs.
Among others, Chelsea and FC Barcelona would already have been interested for a longer time in the defender from the Tukkers and Thursday afternoon Voetbal International brought the report that German Eintracht Frankfurt is in competition with PSV for the defender’s transfer. PSV would also have made an offer of five million euros, which was rejected by the Tukkers. ''Now Eintracht Frankfurt is also getting involved, what a big club it is in Germany'', Aarts says in the podcast.
''Then it becomes a consideration for Nijstad itself of 'what do I want? Do I want to further develop myself in the Netherlands, or do I want to already make that step to abroad and take those steps there?' So I think that it depends on that above all,'' continues the editor.
Aarts is of the opinion that Nijstad would fit in at PSV. ''It would be a huge asset for PSV'', according to the editor.

lol PSV vs Frankfurt voor een verdediger, dat is wel een upgrade qua druk. Tbh ik vind Nijstad past, maar dan moet PSV ook echt doorpakken in de opbouw en niet alleen in defensieve duels.
"Zou een enorme aanwinst zijn" klinkt mooi, maar ik wil hem wel eerst aan het werk zien in wedstrijden waarin PSV druk moet zetten. Past hij ook echt opbouwend, of is het vooral defensieve zekerheid? Als hij alleen voor omschakeling goed is, dan ben ik nog niet 100% overtuigd.
5 miljoen afgeslagen door Twente klinkt logisch, maar eerlijk is Nijstad echt het type verdediger dat PSV nodig heeft. Als Eintracht mee gaat, wordt het ineens een echte race.
Als PSV echt 5 miljoen heeft geboden en Twente het afwijst, dan is Frankfurt dus precies de katalysator. Nijstad lijkt mij wel type speler dat passen kan in PSV. Hopelijk gaat PSV niet te lang wachten want dit ruikt naar bidding war.
