Turkish top club makes move for PSV stronghold

1 min read

An striking rumor from Turkey: according to the outlet Takvim, Galatasaray, where former PSV player Noa Lang is currently active on loan, has contacted PSV for Ismael Saibari. Saibari had a strong season under the setup of Peter Bosz, and the chance therefore also seems fairly high that the midfielder will leave this coming summer.

The management of the Turkish champions is reportedly willing to put an 'substantial amount' on the table for PSV's star player. Takvim states that Galatasaray would like a player who has the qualities of Dries Mertens, also a former PSV player and a former player of Galatasaray.

Saibari is not the only one for whom the Turkish top club would have interest, according to the outlet. The Portuguese Bernardo Silva and the German Julian Brandt, both of whom have expiring contracts at their clubs Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund, would also be high on the list for the team from Istanbul.

Silva would also be in the spotlight for, among others, Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona. ''Gala has already tabled an offer for Silva'', so it sounds at Takvim, which makes it seem likely that Galatasaray will have to look for an alternative.

Therefore Ismael Saibari would be on the radar for the Turks. ''The management is willing to spend a considerable amount of money to complete this transfer,'' Takvim writes about the current PSV player.

i get that Galatasaray has money, but "aanzienlijk bedrag" feels like Turkish smoke to force PSV to sell. Saibari is our engine in midfield, if he leaves then we need a proper 8, not a squad filler. 100%

If Takvim is right, then Saibari is basically gone this summer. Bosz-style midfield with those carries and quick turns, hard to replace at PSV level. 😅

If Takvim is even half right, Saibari is basically already gone. I love his energy under Bosz, but if they come with a "aanzienlijk bedrag" we have to be ruthless and reinvest properly.

If Takvim is right, i hate it but it makes sense. Saibari had a breakout season under Bosz, so of course Galatasaray will try to poach him with big money. Still, i hope PSV has a replacement plan, because losing depth in midfield would hurt.

Saibari weer op de radar... tbh hij was echt een belangrijk stuk onder Bosz. Als ze "aanzienlijk bedrag" betalen dan kan ik begrijpen dat PSV nadenkt, maar ga je zomaar die balans vervangen? 😅
