Transfer journalist: 'Former Ajax player in the picture with PSV'
1 min readFormer Ajax player Joël Veltman would be in the picture at PSV. According to transfer journalist Mounir Boualin, PSV could sign Veltman as a defensive reinforcement since the defender is out of contract at the end of this season at his current club Brighton & Hove Albion.
Boualin tells this in the Transfermind podcast from Soccernews.nl. ''I don't rule out the possibility that PSV will come up with a transfer-free person who is known in the Eredivisie: Joël Veltman. I have that assumption and I'm also hearing those reports slowly'', the journalist says.
For coach Peter Bosz, Veltman is no stranger. Bosz worked with Veltman at Ajax in the 2016/2017 season when the Amsterdam team reached the Europa League final and had to bow to Manchester United (0-2).
Boualin also points to the flexible deployability of the former Ajax player. ''He is a free agent after this season and knows the Eredivisie. He is an experienced young man, someone who normally is immediately in the lineup, and can play as a right-back and right center-back. He is a true Ajax player, but they have more of that type running around in Eindhoven,'' said the transfer journalist.

In addition, the journalist suspects that PSV is not the only one that could be interested in the defender, including his old love Ajax. ''There will probably be several clubs that will go and ask about him. I do not rule out that Ajax will do that too. Ajax wanted to bring him to Amsterdam last year, but that did not work out then. Now maybe it will'', concludes Boualin.
