Rik Elfrink clearly addresses alleged PSV bid for right-back

Additionally, PSV presented on Monday Sven Mijnans as the first summer signing of the 2026/2027 season. Mijnans is coming for thirteen million euros from AZ and has signed through 2031.
It is also still the question of what is going to happen, among other things, with Sergino Dest, Ivan Perisic, and Ricardo Pepi. All three were recently eliminated at the World Cup in North America and may therefore enjoy their vacation.
Dest indicated in recent months that he was holding out for a transfer after the World Cup and, partly because of that, PSV is keeping busy on the transfer market for a new right-back. Among others, the name of Zakaria El Ouahdi from KRC Genk has been mentioned for several months.
Rumours are going around that PSV has made an eighteen million euro bid for the right-back. However, this is incorrect according to PSV watcher Rik Elfrink of Eindhovens Dagblad.
''Rumours that an offer of 18 million euros has been made for him are, in any case, nonsense,'' writes Elfrink in the ED.
In addition, the journalist believes that PSV is not willing to go that far for the winger defender. ''"PSV might begin a round of negotiations at half of that amount, with some leeway. The club wants to keep going responsibly with its own resources'', as the PSV watcher said.

Die uitleg van "beginnen bij de helft" vind ik wel verstandig. Met middelen doorgaan en niet meteen overbetalen, zeker met Dest en Perisic die nog onzeker zijn.
Die quote over "verantwoord met de eigen middelen" is precies wat ik wil zien. Ga geen overspelen doen alleen omdat Dest na het WK transfer-vibes gaf. 👀
El Ouahdi is een interessante naam, maar voor 18 mil zou ik het echt te gretig vinden. Klinkt alsof PSV eerst netjes aan de onderhandelingstafel wil starten, helftje meer realistisch.
Sven Mijnans voor 13 miljoen en dan ook nog 18 pinden voor een rechtsback... ik snap dat PSV niet gek gaat doen. Dest mag dan wel hinten, maar eerst maar eens die budgetten strak houden. 🔥
Tbh nice dat Rik het meteen afschiet: "onzin" is precies wat ik hoopte. Als ze echt 18 miljoen bod hadden gedaan, dan was het wel gewaagd.
18 miljoen voor Zakaria El Ouahdi? Naah, Genk zou dan ook ineens wakker worden. Als PSV echt slim wil shoppen, beginnen ze inderdaad rond de helft met marge.
Eindelijk iemand die het rechtzet. "Onzin" dat PSV 18 miljoen zou hebben geboden, tbh voelt dit ook gewoon als clickbait.
