Well-known Ajax duo is upset about Mijnans’ transfer to PSV

It will almost certainly not have gone unnoticed that Sven Mijnans was presented by PSV on Monday as their first signing for the 2026/2027 season. PSV is putting thirteen million euros on the table for Mijnans and has secured him through the summer of 2031.

Despite a lot of interest from abroad, the midfielder’s choice ultimately came down to PSV. In addition, Ajax was also interested in Mijnans and, according to PSV watcher Rik Elfrink, the Amsterdammers even tried to snatch the deal at the last moment.

In Amsterdam, people are especially annoyed by the fact that the midfielder has chosen PSV over Ajax. The same goes for Ajax supporters Lawrence de Munck and Maarten Vledder, also known as the duo Kale & Kokkie.

Also, Kokkie thinks that AZ, no matter what, would have prevented Mijnans from going to Ajax. "Míchel has already spoken with Mijnans, who, incidentally, chooses PSV. And I think AZ would also... Even if they were willing to pay the same amount, then he wouldn't go to Ajax," said the Ajax fan.

After that, Kale steps in. ''AZ would also have preferred that he go abroad, but he himself had a preference for PSV'', after which Kokkie says: ''What we just already said to each other: I would have liked to have him along'', so the Ajax duo concludes.
