“Turkish interest in PSV stronghold has faded”

1 min read

It will have escaped almost nobody that there are a number of players in PSV’s squad with a transfer clause in their contracts that allows them to be picked up for a certain amount. Among others, Sergino Dest, Joey Veerman and Mauro Junior can be sold for a certain amount.

The latter has received prominent attention over the past month from the Turkish club Fenerbahçe SK. Over the weekend, Eindhovens Dagblad already reported that it remains quiet at the Turkish club regarding PSV’s key player.

Now the ED knows to report that the interest of the team from Istanbul has even completely vanished. As a result, Mauro will simply train with PSV as well.

In doing so, the versatile footballer appears to simply be in the game on Saturday as PSV holds a closed-door friendly match against the Polish team Raków Częstochowa. Nevertheless, this does not mean that the Brazilian will still be active for PSV next season.

In addition to Fenerbahçe SK, FC Porto and Leeds United have also been linked over the past two months with the signing of the current PSV player. So it is still definitely not out of the question that the Brazilian leaves this summer.

Good news tbh. If Fenerbahce is out and Mauro can just train, that depth feels crucial for PSV in tight spells. 👀
