PSV target in the spotlight at Bologna
1 min readOver the past month, AZ midfielder Sven Mijnans, following his standout performance in the won Cup Final against NEC (5-1), has been frequently mentioned as a new target for PSV this coming summer. Despite this, Mijnans, who was also last year close to a transfer to PSV, believes that a move to Eindhoven also will not be happening next summer.
This recently let the Alkmaar crowd know in an interview with Noordhollands Dagblad. ''I don't think AZ's stance has changed, no. So I don't think PSV is, at the moment, a serious option. I think I would best fit in the German or Italian league'', Mijnans said about it.
Now the Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport is bringing out the news that Bologna would be interested in AZ midfielder. In addition to Mijnans, the club from Emilia-Romagna would also have shown interest in Peer Koopmeiners, likewise a midfielder from Alkmaar Zaanstreek.
The newspaper reports that Mijnan's representative was in the Italian city last week to talk about a possible transfer. In addition, AC Milan and AS Roma would also be on the lookout to take over Mijnan from AZ, which is why the competition for Bologna is enormous.

Mijnans' contract in Alkmaar is still valid until the summer of 2028. A transfer to PSV therefore seems highly unlikely to be on the cards next summer.

"Ik denk niet dat het standpunt van AZ is veranderd" klinkt alsof PSV alsnog moet wachten. En eerlijk, 2028 contract tot dan, dan heb je niet veel onderhandelingsruimte.
Tbh jammer, maar ik snap Mijnans zijn twijfel. Als Bologna, Milan en Roma tegelijk komen, dan is Eindhoven gewoon niet "de next move".
