PSV player not ruled out: “I want to play next year.”
1 min readAccording to PSV watcher Tim Reedijk of Voetbal International, it is certainly not out of the question that winger Couhaib Driouech will leave this summer. In the summer of 2024, PSV signed the fast wide player from Excelsior, but managed to avoid winning a regular starting spot.
This season as well, Driouech will mainly have to rely on substitute appearances. Even so, the winger was of great importance in the Champions League matches against Napoli (6-2) and Liverpool (1-4).
In the latter match, Driouech came on for the injured Ivan Perisic and, thanks in part to two goals from the left winger, PSV secured a historic victory at Anfield. In the home match against Napoli, Driouech provided the final touch by firing the 6-2 into the net after a superb attack.
Nevertheless, thanks in part to the competition from Ivan Perisic, he was unable to secure a starting spot under Peter Bosz. Because of this, it is certainly not out of the question that Driouech will look for his future somewhere else this summer.

Thanks in part to the important role of Ivan Perisic, PSV will do everything it takes to keep the Croat from leaving next summer. “He is still under contract for another year, and PSV will be eager to retain him, given his crucial value again in last season’s championship run,” writes Reedijk in VI.
Ruben van Bommel will also be joining PSV again next season, and as a result the chance of playing time for Driouech at PSV seems to have been significantly reduced. ''Driouech has become champion twice and wants to start playing next year, whether that’s at PSV or elsewhere. Given his prospects, a new club seems likely'', said the journalist and PSV watcher.
