PSV advances | Quilindschy Hartman’s name comes up
1 min readWhether you will already be able to see a replacement for Salah-Edinne on the training pitch within 10 days remains to be seen, but the fact of course is that a worthy replacement for Salah-Edinne must be found.
Anass Salah-Eddine returns to AS Roma and so it mostly sounds like 'PSV steps up on the transfer market after Salah-Eddine's rejection'. Because that's how simple the facts are. Salah-Edinne has rejected PSV. Will there be opportunities in Rome for playing time? Probably few opportunities, but still, the defender wants to give it a try.
In a column from 'Voor Rood-wit geschreven' the name of former Feyenoord player Quilindschy Hartman comes up. A very pleasant young man, articulate speech and a top footballer. But one who’s a Feyenoorder. 'Let’s consider Rome and Burnley as two extremes on this spectrum. And then Eindhoven is somewhere in between. More on the side of Rome than on the side of Burnley, but well, it doesn’t go further than that. Because in Burnley there is a left-back who has also already played five internationals for Orange. A left-back who was relegated from the Premier League last season', it says in the column 'Voor Rood Wit geschreven'.
'At Feyenoord, Quilindschy Hartman has shown that he can be a great wing-back. So what on earth is he doing in Burnley? Well, Hartman collided with head coach Robin van Persie. And not by a small amount either, as he told on national television in the broadcast of De Oranjezomer.'

"I’m coming back from that injury and my market value would be a lot lower if I extend right now. So I’ll keep all my options open for now, because maybe something will come up and I can take an offer now that I couldn’t get if I were to extend now", was the footballer’s response to Van Persie’s request. No, not a convenient statement, but a truly honest one.
How would Hartman look at Salah-Eddine in this case? Another left-back, but the big difference is that he returns to Rome via Eindhoven. While Hartman is in Burnley. So would a route like that also be a possibility for Hartman? PSV is looking for a replacement for Salah-Eddine; Hartman wants/is allowed to leave Burnley due to relegation, and Feyenoord is no option as long as Van Persie is the head coach there. Add it all up, right?,' as the analysis in the column 'Voor Rood Wit geschreven' puts it.

Goal!! but only if we finish the transitions. PSV need that extra pass earlier, otherwise it becomes "cross and hope" again.
Idk man, i like X as a link-up option, but imo he still hides too much when the ball is on the back foot. Need more movement in the half-spaces or it becomes slow and predictable.
I think the midfield balance is the real debate here. If Til starts drifting wide too much, we lose the central link, and then Veerman or the 6 has to cover everything.
🔥🔥🔥 This is the kind of pressing that makes opponents panic. If we win the second ball even 50% more, the chances will be ridiculous.
If PSV really want to play that high press, we better keep the midfield compact. Last time we got bypassed, it was the same story, and teams punished the spaces behind the fullbacks.
"PSV Inside" always feels like a preview of what our XI should be... and i love the focus on control. Still, if the full-backs push too high again, thats where teams will punish us.
Tbh if PSV keep building like this from the back, Til could be massive in the build-up. But i still worry we leave space for the counter.
