Ziggo Sport analyst remains convinced of former PSV player: “In that way, too, he can be very dangerous”

"Als uitzondering op de regel" haha dat is echt Memphis ten voeten uit. Wanneer het spel openvalt en er ruimte is achter de linies, dan kan hij dodelijk zijn. Als Oranje hem als impact-sub gebruikt, dan is het voor mij een W. 🔥
"Als uitzondering op de regel" klopt dit gewoon?😂 Als Memphis dat niveau vindt, kan ie Malen juist completeren in plaats van vervangen. Maar ik zie nog geen reden om hem meteen in de basis te zetten, zeker niet als hij niet 90 minuten scherp blijft.
mijn gevoel: Koeman had hem meenemen voor het WK puur als wapen voor de laatste 20 minuten. Khalid zegt terecht dat hij niet moet vasthouden of trucjes moet doen, maar tbh dan moet Memphis ook echt discipline hebben. Anders is het weer balverlies en dan mis je die ruimte.
Matthijs ja, maar dit klinkt wel alsof Memphis op zijn best gewoon "werkpaard-in-ruimte" is. Als hij simpel speelt en meteen doorloopt, is dat toch precies wat teams pijn doet. Alleen jammer dat hij het niet altijd haalt door die twijfelachtige momenten.
NgL, dit klinkt bijna alsof ze willen maskeren dat hij fitheid-issues heeft. Simpel voetballen, bal één keer raken, door-bewegen... prima. Maar waarom staat hij dan in godsnaam niet gewoon vanaf de start, als ze geloven dat hij "de complete spits" kan zijn? 🤡
Ziggo-analist of niet, ik blijf kritisch op die "in dienst van de ploeg" rol. Memphis kan dat, maar vergt ook dat de rest hem de juiste momenten geeft. Als het elftal traag is, blijft hij alsnog afhankelijk van zijn vorm, en dan wordt het gevaar inderdaad minder.🙄
Ik vind het opvallend dat Boulahrouz zegt dat Malen niet aan de basisplaats hoeft te tornen. Daar ben ik het wel mee eens, want Malen brengt tempo en arbeid. Memphis kan dan juist als wapen komen, als eerste periode saai is. ⚽
Memphis invallen tegen Japan en dan alsnog meenemen, tbh snap ik die keuze wel maar het moet nu beter worden. Als hij weer twee keer raakt en meteen doorloopt, dan is het ineens nuttig. Maar als hij gaat spelen alsof hij op zichzelf moet bewijzen, dan ga je balverlies krijgen. 💀
"Ook op die manier kan hij heel gevaarlijk zijn" is precies wat wij bij PSV ook zagen. Als hij niet hoeft te slijten op individuele trucjes, maar gewoon aanspeelbaar is en doorbeweegt, dan kan hij echt dreiging brengen. Ben benieuwd of Koeman hem datzelfde plan geeft.
