"First PSV bid rejected"

1 min read

On Thursday morning, the media outlet Tubantia brought the news to the public that PSV has shown serious interest in FC Twente defender Ruud Nijstad after it became known earlier this week that Mats Rots is leaving for German club TSG Hoffenheim. In the meantime, PSV would also have already made an opening bid of five million euros for Nijstad.

With that news, Eindhovens Dagblad is teaming up with Voetbal International to bring it to light. According to the latter outlet, PSV's first bid was rejected by the men from Twente.

In addition to PSV’s interest, Nijstad would also be in the sights of various clubs from the German Bundesliga. The left-footed centre-back is also being tracked by, among others, Chelsea and FC Barcelona.

"We want to control the tempo" yeah ok, but can we control it when the fullback is caught high? i just want that pressing trigger to be consistent, otherwise its gonna be a long night. 👀

Ngl i like the idea of pressing higher, but the space behind was screaming for a counter. If the fullbacks push like that, we need the #6 to screen better, otherwise its a long night. 🔥

If PSV really went with that midfield shape in the article, i get it, but i still think we missed a runner between the lines. Luuk de Jong always gives you something, but we need more movement from the wingers too. 👀

Not convinced by the midfield setup mentioned. If they dont give Veerman space to turn, it becomes all sideways and slow, then our wingers get isolated. Also, the way they talked about defending crosses felt a bit too optimistic... 🤡

If PSV actually stick with that 4-2-3-1 in the article, i expect Gakpo to get more touches, but we have to cover the half-spaces better. Got no time for passivity in the first 20 minutes, especially against pressing teams. 🔥
