ED provides million-dollar transfers; a half-team seems set to leave: “Clubs will come forward for a pair”
1 min readThe Eindhovens Dagblad expects that a lot is in store over the coming weeks and months. PSV is facing a very busy transfer window. It simply seems that half a team is going to leave.
The regional newspaper is currently also of the opinion that the much-loved Brazilian Mauro Júnior may well leave for PSV next summer. Another excellent season and able to be deployed in multiple positions, so it is more than logical to say that clubs will start to come calling for Mauro Júnior.
That will mean quite a serious drain on the blood supply, but well, who can’t be replaced? In any case, this summer various clubs are expected to get in touch for Mauro Júnior. That’s what Eindhovens Dagblad expects. That does not apply to Jerdy Schouten, who is not expected back again until early 2027. Schouten seems set to stay at PSV.
The regional newspaper expects several first-team players to leave this summer. 'They are pieces that are extremely difficult to replace at PSV, especially since capable replacements nowadays cost a fortune. Buying talent is already expensive, let alone established players,' the regional newspaper writes.
Both Joey Veerman and Mauro Júnior will not play any minutes at the World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States, while for both it holds true that this stage would not be beneath them. Still, both will be in demand, the regional newspaper thinks. 'That clubs nevertheless will start contacting them is almost certain.'
In the winter, Veerman was already set to leave for Fenerbahçe, after earlier Premier League club Brentford had already made contact with PSV and with Veerman himself. The Volendam midfielder said as early as last Sunday that there is something going on and taking place at the moment, referring to a host of clubs that are in the market for his signature.

Als ED gelijk krijgt over Mauro Júnior, dan wordt het meteen een echte soap qua rechtsback/wing. Wel logisch natuurlijk, maar tbh ik zie niet wie dat niveau zomaar opvult zonder dat we weer een flop gokken.
Mauro Junior moet dan bijna wel vertrekken hè... maar ik vind het raar dat ze het zo zeker zeggen. Als clubs zich melden is dat lekker, maar ik wil niet dat we opnieuw in de markt gaan voor "capabele vervangers" die minimaal dubbel kosten. 🔥
Als ED gelijk heeft, dan gaat het weer een zomer worden van alleen maar "vervangen of bijsturen". Maar bij Schouten niet verkopen lijkt me logisch, revalideren en doorbouwen is beter dan paniekshoppen.
"Schouten niet, hij revalideert in Eindhoven" oké dat is tenminste duidelijk. Maar als Mauro en Veerman weer geen minuten pakken op dat WK, dan verwacht ik dat PSV weer voor een slimme timing gaat en niet voor paniekverkoop. Wel benieuwd wie er dan de echte regierol pakt als Veerman weg is.
Mauro Júnior als "tweetal" verkoop en dan ook nog Veerman... dit gaat pijn doen. Maar tbh als ze straks 40-60 miljoen klaar hebben, dan moet PSV echt klaarstaan met vervangers, anders wordt het midweek druk voetbal i.p.v. selectie breedte.
